LauncherPro Discoveries

Been using LauncherPro for almost two months now, and had no clue that you could swype the dock left and right for more icons.. lol

Thanks :D

lol I'm really glad that I posted this then. I assumed that there were others who had no idea about this. When I found out, I was like "OMFG AWESOME!"

I wish there was a way to use the dock intead of my hard buttons. Like a "go back" key, search key, home key and preferences key. Guess not.

I'm having this same issue. Any idea how to correct this? I've installed Home Switcher to change between stock and LP and set Stock as default, but the home button always takes me back to the LP home screen.

I don't have an answer as of yet. I don't know if it's a bug in HomeSwitcher or LauncherPro or if this is just how it works. Once I find the right set of icons, I think I'll be good strictly using LP anyway. The LP dev says there's an update coming next week, I'm hoping at least for resizeable widgets.

I downloaded home switcher but even if I set the Moto interface as the default it reverts back to LauncherPro every time I leave and return to my home screen.

I like LauncherPro alot, but I think it also needs to support the Moto resizeable widgets.

Give them some time man. the phones only been out for two days. :D

There is something weird about how Motorola implemented the launcher.
If you noticed when you installed LP it automatically started using it and every time you'd hit the home button, and if you have more then one launcher installed (I have ADW and LP), It would ask you to select a default but it didn't have Moto.blur as one of the choices. It not until you install Home Switcher that you can see the moto.blur launcher. However even selecting it as the default with Home switcher won;t keep it as the default. Why I don not know. The only way I could go back to blur as default was to remove the other launchers or never use the moto one. I'm leaning towards never using the Blur launcher.

So no I don't know how to fix it other than remove the other launcher.:(

On a side note this is also how some custom ROMS worked on my Dinc when they stripped of the senseUI. The system doesn't seem to know about the default launcher. ???

Yeah wouldn't it be nice if they had some feature list and instructions someplace. Anyone know if they do?

If you turn up the memory usage to 'high', you will find that everything operates much smoother.

I have 7 screens filled, using high quality scrolling, 3d app drawer, and nothing lags. It's pretty awesome. I made a little vid as a demonstration.

The audio level is so low, idk why, because it played back so loud on my Droid after I recorded it

How did you get the motorola app drawer button on there?

I actually released a themed version of LP for my Droid X theme on the original Droid. You can find the .apk here on the 2nd post:

http://androidforums.com/roms-droid/120076-theme-xtheme-droid-x-cyanogenmod-6-a.html

Since you need to uninstall the market version of LP, best bet is to make a backup in preferences, uninstall market version, install xthemed version, restore backup, and readd widgets.

Thanks. But, uh, how do I install this on my X? I downloaded the .apk for the launcher pro theme, but I'm finding conflicting instructions on how to install.

First, make sure in settings->applications, you have unknown sources checked.

Then, using the files app, you should be able to navigate to where you put the .apk on your sdcard, and launch it. It should prompt you to install then.

If the included files app doesn't do this, then a market file manager such as ASTRO will.

I appreciate the help, but I can't seem to get it to work. I've copied the theme to my sdcard both as a .zip and as an unzipped .apk. When I go into Astro and click on .-com.fede.launcher.apk, it says Error, the directory could not be loaded. When the I click on the unzipped folder, it just kicks me into the files in the folder. What am I doing wrong?

EDIT: Had to make sure the file was .apk and not .apk.zip. Of course, everyone else already knew that most likely. The theme is cool, thanks for the help.

Thank YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOU!!! :) :) :) :D:D:D:D

That helped a LOT! :)

I was using the 3d App Drawer, but I seem to accidentally open apps while I'm scrolling through it. Even if I just flick it sometimes. I turned it off for now, even though it does look sweet.

I am LOVING LauncherPro so far. I can't wait for the update which will hopefully allow the Motorola Contact Widget to work. That contact widget is really the only thing that the stock launcher has over LauncherPro IMO.

I think Motorola's calendar widget is good, too.

I can't seem to be able to install a skin on the beautiful home widget because I have a regular wallpaper. How can I bypass this. Someone please answer me, I am new to this whole Android world. Thanks.

I read this somewhere else, and it works - uninstall LauncherPro, then install HomeSwitcher first, then reinstall LauncherPro (make a backup of your settings first!). Now HomeSwitcher works as advertised and I'm not having any more problems. If that still doesn't work, you might have to do a hard reset first to totally clear any LauncherPro stuff. That's actually what I did because I somehow killed the Motorola CarDock app and needed to hard reset anyway.

The type of wallpaper your using should not matter. Are you sure you're saving and then applying the skins?
