LauncherPro Discoveries

I've installed (and paid for) LauncherPro and LauncherPro Plus. I have set up my 7 screens where I like them using Grid Calendar, Grid Message and other widgets and stuff.

My problem is that my Droid X is a slow as molasses! I can't swipe screens unless I try two or three times. It takes for ever to change screens and some even stop in the middle of a swipe.

What's going on here? I have all the settings set to maximum memory!

Help!

Try turning the phone off and back on. Are you using a task killer?

I am LOVING LauncherPro so far. I can't wait for the update which will hopefully allow the Motorola Contact Widget to work. That contact widget is really the only thing that the stock launcher has over LauncherPro IMO.

The creator said on the forums that this is a problem with Motorola and not LauncherPro and most likely will not be added. It is up to Motorola to fix this so don't hold your breath for an update. This is also something to consider if thinking about paying money for LauncherPro Plus, since the people widget doesnt work.

I wish they could add multitouch support to the home screen. Where you could move two different apps at the same time, small little feature, I don't know if anyone would want it, but I think it would be cool. I wouldn't think it would be that hard, it would be like the multitouch vis test.

It would just save me some time moving icons around if I could grab two at once.

What do you guys think?

Yes a multi select and drag would be useful at times.

I bought the plus version to ensure continued development of the product. If you like it, support it.

+1

Yeah for all those with the free version if you haven't gotten 2.99 worth of use out of it after a week you should just uninstall it or send the man three bucks. :D

He obviously puts a lot of time into LP, his site, his forums, and just plan old customer support.

I'm paying the $3 regardless. Went from Home++ to this, and loving it.

One thing I did notice--when in the app drawer (using 3-D) and setting up my 7 screens, I tended to accidentally launch a lot of apps, way more than with the stock app drawer. Is there a sensitivity setting I'm missing?

LOVE the "Sense UI" screen chooser and landscape mode--my two main reasons for having it.

BTW--how do I track system mem usage?

I downloaded home switcher but even if I set the Moto interface as the default it reverts back to LauncherPro every time I leave and return to my home screen.

I like LauncherPro alot, but I think it also needs to support the Moto resizeable widgets.

I agree. I love launcherpro the only thing I miss is the ability to resize widgets.

What exactly does high quality scrolling do? I didn't notice any difference. Love the 3d ap drawer though!

With the new Bookmarks widget, does anyone notice it's NOT synced with your actual bookmarks? I'm using the Dolphin HD browser, so is that the issue? One example, My Space is appearing as a bookmark in the widget, and I certainly DO NOT have that as a bookmark anywhere that I know of.

I don't notice a difference when Smooth App Scrolling is turned on. What should look better, the App Drawer? Has anyone noticed any lag with this feature turned on?

If you turn up the memory usage to 'high', you will find that everything operates much smoother.

I have 7 screens filled, using high quality scrolling, 3d app drawer, and nothing lags. It's pretty awesome. I made a little vid as a demonstration.

The audio level is so low, idk why, because it played back so loud on my Droid after I recorded it

How do I get this App Drawer icon with LauncherPro? I prefer it over the cube. I've tried holding down on the icon, and choosing App Drawer. I'm not able to get it using Default Icon or LauncherPro Icons.

Edit: I see others have asked this already, and that a custom theme needs to be loaded. If someone manages to get a copy of the Motorola app drawer icon couldn't we just use the "custom icon" choice? I want to avoid installing HomeSwitcher.

I had to uninstall LPP. My UI was all jerkey, even with the option to use high memory. The widgets took forever to load. I'm back to plain android, without using motoblur, much.

Have the same issue. I paid for LPP but ended up having to removing it. I think its a blur issue as LP always has run great. But this was stupid bad and had to uninstall.

I didn't remove the widgets from my stock launcher before installing LauncherPro. A previous poster said this could cause a performance hit. Is this true? It's the reason I wanted to switch back to the stock launcher temporarily.
