LauncherPro Discoveries

The back button will turn off resizing. You'll get a message stating that resizing can only be used with the pro version, but you should get back control of your phone.

I don't care for any of the LauncherPro widgets, I really like LP because it gives me drag and drop uninstalls, more icons per view, more icons in the dock, and resizable widgets.

I like CalWidget in 4x3 size and GTasks widget for a nice 'pseudo integrated' calendar/tasks app, I totally don't see the value in the LP calendar widget, but everyone works differently. With a nice white font/dark semi-transparent background it looks very nice over any background picture. I like a one-glance agenda with enough items in one view to be useful to me. Nice small fonts and no wasted space. It isn't perfect but works for me.

FWIW, I did post in the launcher pro forums, and after 3 days there has not been one pm, or even a post other then my own.

Going back to stock resolves all our issues without a battery pull, which to me indicates it is an issue with the last build.

I don't hate LP, but find it just adds more issues then it enhances right now, so while I have more functionality, I have less stability, and waiting for 30 seconds every time I wake up my phone is a pain in the rump.

For what I paid, I can't complain at all, but if things are proken, they need to be acknowledged and addressed.

While "customer service" is a bad joke with the developer, I gotta say you are doing something wrong. If just you and your wife are having the issue that nobody else can replicate, it's hard to argue LP is to blame.

Just saying...

Actually, someone else also with a droid x did mention he ran into the exact same issue.

It could be an incompatibility with another app, or something along those lines, but it seems quite odd that it ran fine on both our droidx phones before the update and after the update, we both started seeing the same issues.

The author has not asked one single feedback question about it, or even acknowledged he is even looking into the issue.

Odds are he just programs in his spare time, so I don't really expect to see any real support.

Weird either way. I do find the forums there next to useless, unless you want to get yelled at for not using the worthless search function or completely ignored.

Still, I've had pretty good results. The only lagging I get is due to juice defender settings, which give it a less than a second lag on wakeup or for the Sense UI screen preview.

I removed beautiful widgets from my screens, and that seems to have reduced the issues. The LP developer did mention they are memory suckers for some reason.

Like many people, I started loading up all sorts of widgets like weather that look cool, but seriously, how many people check the weather every 5 minutes?

I've been paring whats actually onscreen all the time down to things I REALLY use, and I think that has made a difference as well. Could be the next update resolves the rest of our issues.

I like LP itself but I dont use any of their widgets... or icons... or wallpapers. Really the only reason I use it is because i'm not exactly the biggest fan of sense.

I don't even use Beautiful Widgets and I have severe redraw issues. No other launcher seems to have this issue. I think it's pretty clear where the issue lies.

LauncherPro Icons | Custom Android app icons for the awesome LauncherPro home screen replacement

THIS IS GREAT!

They are taking requests and trying to make as many Launcher Pro icons as possible for all your Launcher Pro customizing needs. I only need 2 more icons for my 15 app dockbar to be complete and my page of emulators to be complete.

Still need SNESoid and Gameboid for the dockbar and need Those along with GBcoid and PSXoid (Although I'm liking the Game controller icon)

Is there a way to re-arrange the screens? Let's say I wanted my screen #2 to now become my screen #5, is there a way to move it or set it as the new number? The only features I find related to this is the number of screens you want, and which screen you want to be the home screen.
Am I missing something, or does this feature not exist?

Using a Samsung Galaxy S, The "Contacts" icon on the dock bar does not work for me, just says "could not launch the reqauested activity" - does anyone know why this is or how to fix it?

Thanks

Just 'discovered' that you can unistall an unwanted app simply by dragging the icon to the trash and holding it for a few seconds.

It will show a 'pop up' saying "Drop to uninstall".

It can be done from home screens or app drawer.

New to me...

This feature has been there for a long time, a very useful one indeed. I bet not everyone knows about it, so thanks for bringing it up.

Has anyone figured out how to put a brightness widget in the bottom app dock? I usually use my ohone with low brightness, but want an easy way to kick it up when I'm outdoors and need it.

You don't mention what device you're using, but on the Samsung Galaxy, swiping on the notification bar changes the screen brightness.

Also long pressing an item in the dock lets you set the swipe action, I set swipe on the drawer button for screen previews, alot more ergonomic than pinching the screen for the previews.

What is up with LauncherPro shortcuts, how do this work? Mine doesn't display anything in the list.

No, but you can link a dock shortcut to an Apps Organizer or Folder Organizer Label which is the same as a folder.

Wow! Thanks. I didn't realize that, and I have been using LP for a month at least. I already had a couple Apps Organizer folders on my screen, now those are in the dock. Between 3 docks, and 2 functions for each spot (tap and swipe) I am down to needing only 2 screens, and one of those is filled with my Pure Calendar (scrollable because of LP!).

I know that we can press the home key and it'll get us to our designated main scree, but is there a way for our dock to go to the main one also?

I didn't know you could pinch to get the previews. But if that's what you were doing and found it less than ergonomic (I know I would), I'm wondering if you know you can press the Home key to do the same thing.
