LauncherPro Discoveries

When you click on someone in the people widget, that bar of items appears over them showing all of the contact options your phone has for the individual (phone/message/email etc)
It's one of the lovely features of the paid for version!:D:D

running 7.4 LPP on my X and the bar doesn't show up.... what's up

Anybody have any idea why the number of unread text doesn't pop up in my dock? I have it checked in the preferences but it still doesn't work. Unread email and calls work but not text.

From reading the LP forums, it seems it's an Android feature that Moto apparently disabled.

+1 I doesn't work for me either. I'm using LPP 7.4 as well.

Hmmm...Well i got the paid version last night and this doesn't happen for me. Tapping on a contact brings up the full-screen contact page for that person. Is there a setting somewhere that I need to enable? I'm running 0.7.4.0

I took a look through all of the settings for this (0.7.4 also) and couldn't find anything to toggle this functionality on or off, it just _works_ on my Moto Milestone (which is of course BLURless) and so I can only guess that @milan616 is correct. :(

Anyone a little less-than-impressed with some of the widgets? Maybe I'm expecting too much, or it's too early on to really judge, but they seem like more style than actual function. Calendar is really the biggest sore spot for me. Seems like I need multiple apps to get a good solid calender/agenda app and home screen widget. Hopefully things will continue to improve at a rapid pace.

Jorte calendar widget was good for me. I liked the month and daily view Jorte offered. I now use Pure Grid Calendar (month view) and Pure Calendar (daily view) but only because I found them for free via Google search since they are both paid.

Has anyone figured out how to put a brightness widget in the bottom app dock? I usually use my ohone with low brightness, but want an easy way to kick it up when I'm outdoors and need it.

Since I'd want that functionality for many home pages, having it in the lower app dock would be perfect.

You can't put widgets down there though, and all the brightness apps I have (like beautiful) are widgets, not actual apps.

I doubt it since the dock acts more as a shortcut or app opener than it does a widget. The only other thing I can think of is to put a brightness toggle widget on your locker page or default home page. It is a good idea though, so maybe you can ask the developer if he can do something like this.

It's an alternate homescreen application. If I'm not mistaken originally the evo had htc sense (htc's version of a homescreen app) and the stock android homescreen app. Launcherpro, ahome and adw are alternate homescreen apps that will allow you to customize the look and feel of your homescreen.

I like Smooth Calender...

Can you not add a dock shortcut for Contacts? I can only add a shortcut for Contact Search.

My recent discovery? a LOT of instability with the latest version.

I get a touchscreen hang for about 20 seconds coming off sleep, and I ended up adding a messenger widget that is completely blank.. and no way to select it for removal.

If you'd asked me a week ago what I thought of launcher pro, I'd say it was the first thing after apps installer to put on your phone.

Now though, I'd say stick with the original interface, or try some other alternative.

I'm seeing the exact same issues on both my wife's and on my DX, and I've tried uninstalling/redownloading and installing, rebooting, and even battery pull.

On my wife's phone, if she tries to add a home page shortcut, it gives her the events list, not the applications list for selecting which app to shortcut to.

I don't see this as a fair evaluation. I haven't had any of these problems and you haven't given the dev a chance to try and help you to fix your issue. You have a very limited experience to pull from with LP and I haven't seen anyone else post your issues. Maybe try to contact the dev and see if you can fix it. I made the same mistake with another program and I was the one doing something wrong. I should have given the dev the opportunity to fix it before I told everyone I thought it sucked, maybe you should too.

I know you said you tried it already, but pulling the battery solved the lag issue for me.

Did you try a long press at the top of the widget? It took several attempts for me to find the right place, but I finally got it to move so I could delete it.

Frederic puts a lot of time into his widgets, but I don't use them, except for the calendar. They seem to slow things down for me.

I had the same problem after the update. The only way I could clear my blank white widget that could not be removed, was to uninstall and then re-install LP. I didn't even want the widget I just wanted to see what it looked like (the new messenger one). Thank God I backed up my LP so all I had to do was restore, other wise a lot of time and effort would have been wasted.

I am not messing with the widgets again until the bugs are worked out, and I still love LP.

Hey all,

I have been using LauncherPro for about a week on my Moto Droid and am a huge fan. However, one problem I'm encountering lately is the widget resizing tool is freezing my phone. I don't have the pro version, so widget resizing isn't an option, but sometimes when trying to rearrange my screen layouts it begins the widget resizing tool and I can't seem to get rid of it without powering off / on my phone.

Any advice would be appreciated.
