LauncherPro Discoveries

Dang, the new update for Plus users allows resizeable widgets. I'm very tempted to upgrade to Plus now.

NEW: Resizable widgets!. Now you can resize any widget! Long-press on a widget until it lifts up the screen, then release it in the same spot. You should now see a resize box around it and a yellowish overlay. Use the resize handle to change the size (use the overlay as a guide) and release the handle to see how the widget will look resized. When you find a size that you like, press the “Back” button on your phone to save the changes and go back to your homescreens.

This DOES NOT work with Motorola Blur (Droid X for example) widgets! You can resize them but they won’t change functionality/layout like they do on Motorola’s launcher. I cannot add that functionality (if it’s even possible to add it, since it uses the Blur framework) without having a Droid X to test, so please don’t send requests to support these widgets (unless you want to lend me your Droid X for testing, that is).

Still, LauncherPro is such a great application I highly recommend paying for the Plus version.

I don't know if you all remember I uninstalled LPP because of jumpy lag. Since then, I've rooted and such. I decided to try the newer version that you lock off the market. So far it's nice and speedy. I have it set up like my Motorola Homescreen. I'm using 7 screens and animated app drawer. I've backed it all up.

Funny enough, I'm using BW on the homescreen and FW on another screen. I like them both, but I like fact that BW gets me into more sub programs.

Also, I totally drained my battery so that I can get an "accurate" reading on my "Battery Left" widget. Finally, with root and using SetCPU. I have battery for DAYS! :) :)

I didn't know setcpu was operable yet...meaning i thought we had to wait until the bootloader was figured out. How do you find it working? What do you manipulate? Are you underclocking at certain times or what?

For me when I press the home button to do the sense ui like screen previews, it is verry laggy. But when I do the pinch out gesture, the zoom out animations are much smoother. Does this happen for you?

I've noticed when resizing my Sportsmobile widget, LP does not keep the same proportions of the widget and ended up chopping off the top and bottom of the widget when I made it smaller.

Hopefully that can be addressed.

Regardless, just an awesome app.

Pinching for screen preview and Home button work fine. I can't pinch out once I see all my screens, so I am not sure what you mean. I can only tap on the one I want to proceed to.

No lag here using either method with the free version...

I experienced lag from the last update (swipe gesture for dock) and again for the last update (resize widgets). The only way for me to get rid of the lag was to uninstall LPP, reboot, then reinstall. The phone seems to be fine for the past few hours. Before it would take a few seconds just to add a shortcut to the dock and use the home button, but things seem to be normal now.

7.4 is out, but apparently one of the new features isn't working right on at least several platforms. The assign activities function has either caused FC, or simply doesn't work.

Hi all, installed Launcher pro plus yesterday to replace the TW on my Galaxy S.
Im a bit of a thicky but seem to have got it something like but am stuck on a few things.
Would love to add my contact groups into little folders and put them onto a home screen.
I hold the home screen and can add a folder but cant add anything to it.
Anyone any decent ideas how I achieve this.
Also, I have the people widgets on a couple of screens but quite a few time when I try to go on those pages all I see is a grey box and no people. Seems to take an eternity to load peoples pictures.
Any ideas, just installed an update

Thanks

How do you guys get your screens to go left and right? Mine only goes to the right. I would like about 5 screens, 1 "home" screen, 2 to the left and 2 to the right. Is this possible??

You would need to specify 5 screens (Menu->Preferences->Homescreen settings->Number of Screens) and then specify screen 3 as the default screen.

Just drag the contact items and drop them on the folder you just made; that will add them to the folder.
