Update worked, nice piece of software.

Although I am not all that interested in this friend widget right now, but still like to support the developer
 
I suppose I have one question. How do I get my contacts to download all the pictures for the people widget?

I've always had this problem, but never decided to ask until now.

I mean...they should be pulling from facebook or something. Is there a place to sync the pictures with your contacts?

The app referenced in the link I posted in post #10 works really well. It caught all but a few of my contacts and the few it didn't match up were Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, etc. I simply found their facebook profile in the results area of the app and long-pressed on their profile. I then selected the only option listed to link to contact. I then chose which contact belonged to that profile and now I have all pics updated.

I think he meant to say "Long press on the dockbar where you want the app placed" (for launcher pro that is - i think ADW is drag and drop)

there are little + images there and a few default ones - you can change them all and have a max of 3 scroll bars.

Bought the pro version for the people widget - I loved this feature on my Eris, glad to have it back :)
 
Guys, what exactly is this people widget? How is it different than my regular contacts list that comes built into Android?

From what I can tell just by playing around with it is that it gives you quick access to different functions with each contact. Example, I have my girlfriend's facebook sync'd, address, etc. When I tap on her name in the people widget, I see a small toolbar that has the following options: phone, contact, sms, maps, facebook, and gmail. Makes it much easier and quicker than opening each individual app.

its only a specific list of contacts and its on a homescreen without going into the contacts app. I have it only displaying my favorite contacts so its only like 6 or 7 contacts on it.
 
And there you have it. An unlock code system so that we can easily get updates through the market. Visit this blog to learn how to get your unlock code: LauncherPro 0.7.0.2 released.

I simply searched for launcherpro in the market and it said there was an update available. I updated that way and all info was saved and then unlock the plus features.

Is anyone else experiencing problems with People Widget? I try to set it as starred contacts in android and it won't bring them up. Any suggestions?
 
I'm using OpenHome right now and really loving it but i'll give LauncherPro a try and see the pluses and minuses. So far the customization is eye catching. Are there themes for this app?
 
so, i downloaded launcher pro two days ago and planned to play with it for at least a week to see if i like it. apparently, two days was enough - just bought the plus version :)

at the moment, it's just the people widget that differentiates, right? (i was more interested in throwing a few bucks to the dev than getting an extra widget.)

also, thanks to kratos for keeping us updated with the major points here.

Yes, but he's planning to add more HTC style widgets which are very good and some really miss.
 
I hope that HTC doesn't send out a c&d letter to him, like they did with the developer of Beautiful Widgets. Hopefully he gets these widgets out sooner rather than later, so that we'll have it on our devices before HTC pulls it off the market.

I think this has been brought to his attention. Hopefully he changes the widgets just enough to avoid a C&D
 
There is a big difference between copying HTC's clock widget and their contacts/bookmarks widgets, which are just frames with tiles linking to contacts or websites. I think they would have a hard time defending the design on the contacts widget in court...I mean, there are only so many ways you can display a grid of tiles!
