Root Leaked 2.2 Codenamed Molasses

Sweet! With Clockwork Recovery I reinstalled the leaked OTA from my sd card and the update for market and streaming and got 1310! :) I didn't even have to restore apps or my data either.

its the removal of the system apps. i've been consistent in the 11-1200's and i removed the vz nav and the genie widget and now i'm only getting high 700's mid 800's. good thing i did a nandroid backup to go back

I've gotten between 1100 and 1250 both before and after removing everything in the one forum thread that has a huge list of stuff to move. I have been told stock froyo without sense should score more like 1300-1450 but I'll sacrifice a little for sense, ts half the reason I got the phone.

No its not.

Its probably the streaming audio fix.

Im confused...The streaming audo fix will make the phone slower?

Hmmm Now I am concerned, my score is down to 789 and that is without any app removal. Is this because I did the market streaming fix???

Probably. I don't understand it myself, but it is, what it is.

I dunno if you have already but maybe you should edit that in to your other thread.

In fact I don't even think I had a problem with streaming. Pandora was working fine. So I did a Nandroid backup and got my speed back.

My phone is fast again, FinallyFastAndroid.com!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why? No idea, but it's certainly true. I had 7xx using the streaming market fix, and 11xx putting the regular fingerprint_froyo market fix.. That was the *only* change between runs.

accidentally deleted visual voice mail with titanium, anyone have a backup they can send me?

nevermind everything i deleted with titanium came back after restarting the phone. does anyone know how to get rid of cityid, amazonmp3, vznavagator and footprints?

I'll pull it off my SDcard right now (moved everything I took off there)

Edit: ok, I see you got it :-)

Interesting. I also have over 100 apps and have not removed anything. I'm using LauncherPro and ran Quadrant and got a score of 973. I reinstalled 20100727_stock_froyo_signed.zip from nandroid (without also installing fingerprint) and reran Quadrant and scored 1155. No other changes were made. What could cause this rather significant difference in speed?

DEFINITELY the streaming audio "fix".

I was running FINE until I applied it last night. I also removed the stock bloatware at the same time (funny what you'll do after reading the forums for an hour). My phone started lagging very badly. Going into the video camera cause me to crash out hard, and trying to look at albums was causing lockups. I put all the bloatware back thinking it might have something to do with it, and nada. So I wiped everything and reinstalled Froyo again from recovery. Working perfect so I went to bed. This morning, I installed the gmail fix, market fix, and audio fix before starting to reinstall apps. It started dying again. I checked the video and it locked me up. I started all over and only applied the market/audio fix and I was dead again.

Reformated one last time, haven't installed the market/audio fix, but I've installed EVERYTHING else from before, and the phone is still flying. It HAS to be the audio fix.

The problem with running a differnent launcher is that A, Sense is still running in the background and B, I did manage to temporarily close Sense while running Quadrant. Once I went back to the home screen it made me wait a good 20 seconds while it restarted all the Sense stuff.

On another note, battery life has actually improved and I'm impressed at that. I can get 13ish hours out of a charge. Nowhere near the 26 I was getting with YASR but it's still good enough that I can use it for business and charge it at night. I'll look into restarting again and skipping the streaming audio fix, since I don't really stream audio off it anyway.

Yeah there is no question about it.

I think what I am going to do is try to compile a source rom (it won't have Sense) that does not have stagefright compiled into it.

If I ever get free time anyway.

Actually, a lot of folks don't realize this, but if you set a default launcher other than Sense, and reboot, Rosie does not load as well.

You can verify this with Home Switcher. Note that if you set a default to say Launcher Pro and reboot, and then go back and set the default to Sense and hit home, you get a silver HTC logo. This means Sense Rosie is starting up. If it was already loaded, you wouldn't see that.
