Leaving

This phone was doomed from the start. The processor is slow and the disadvantages outweigh the advantages with froyo. You guys have done an amazing job and due to that I will never be afraid to root any android phone I have. A lot of the people who are posting replies don't realize that there isn't a lot of room for advancement with the Ally. It's pretty much where it will be and never be better than it currently is, with the exception of little things devs like you guys put into the roms. You can only do so much, good luck with whatever you guys decide to do in the future.
 
Well, I must have missed something. Both of you guys are awesome assets to the LG Ally's community here, and you will be missed :(

Hope you guys do a reversal, and think about coming on back. I can hope, right?

If you decide not to, best of luck in your endeavors in future projects, be it different hardware, different platforms, or a different field.
 
Wow... what respect u this community gave. Their work will live on but as for them, their movin on and I think they should. Pounded everyday with the question are u done yet?

They are gonna be missed...and I would love to know if its because of getting new phones, so their work with the ally is over, or lifes calling in other situations, because i'd buy a new phone to keep up with their work...I've downloaded all the roms and themes they have made because I feel they will be pulled soon and not of use to people, but I'm staying on 2.1 and I love their work =)
 
I'm very sorry to see that you are leaving. Without the works of both of you the Ally would be nothing.

I wish I only knew 1/2 of what you know about dev for android.

Thanks for all of the hard work and time you have put into the Ally making it a great basic android phone.
 
This is indeed a very sad day for the community. When Froyo was first release and there was so much demand for a 2.2 ROM I was worried then that something like this may happen.

The contributions both D2A and Trident have made were ground breaking, and turned a bottom of the line Android phone into a much more usable and enjoyable device.

You both will be deeply missed, but your contributions to the community will never be forgotten.

all i can say is thank you both without you my ally would have returned in less than a day please come back for one last rom if not see you on another android thanks
 
I just saw this thread... it would be a HUGE loss to lose either one of you let alone BOTH of you in the ALLY comunity, I hope you both change your mind, if not then I wish you both the best of luck in whatever you choose!!
 
sorry if what i said was taken the wrong way. didnt really mean it that way and somehow when i typed that i thought nothing wrong but now i understand. at least somebody called me out! what i really wanted to express was that i was looking forward to seeing velocity and punisher .2 on froyo. but seeing this post just took a shit on my head and i was saddened to see the only chance of froyo being worth anything leave. whos gonna make roms for us now? but who knows maybe one of them will come back and finish one more project? kepp our fingers crossed!

That does sound much better. I'm with Indifferent22 all the way on this. The main focus isn't about who's gonna make ROM's now. Believe me, there will be good ROM's and there already is. It's about awesome members of the the community leaving. Members that did so much for us already. It wouldn't bother me if they didn't make anything else for the Ally at all. It would just be great for them to stick around and watch the capabilities grow. After all, if it wasn't for them, we might have nothing at all except stock LG crap!
 
Good luck. Not sure if you are stepping away from all development (burned out), gotten a new platform to work on, or just doing something new; but I wish you the best.

Wow... Nice to see the support behind devs on this forum! I don't own an ally and have been camping in the hopes of an LG shine plus type breakthrough, but hey... It's understandable that if you get harrassed for free work, the payback isn't worth it.

Good luck to the devs! Hope you guys move on to bigger and better devices (Like the HD2, haha)

I have givin nothing but props to all the devs and the ppl helpin them! To include me with the ppl who have run them off is so far off target! My original post was acually thankin them agian and down talkin the punks who were the original problem,then i read a thread that was locked because some did not want things spillin over to the forums, so i change my post and stated what all of us want because there work is so good! So if u took it wrong o well but dont say im the reason there leaving! Come on man!
 
I hope it hasn't been anything that I have done. Both of you are tallented people and just as much awesome in the way you help everyone. Everyones help on the IRC has been appreciated. I just wanna say thanks from this noob and good luck.
