Root LeeDroid - experience so far

Have to say this latest non call record bfs kernel and the latest rom are awesome on the battery life :D

Was gonna give LeeDroid another go tonight, but now I'm not gonna be able to - not gonna have a laptop for the night! Grr

I noticed battery life was terrible on both the 3.1.6 CFS & BFS kernels so I flashed 3.1.7 CFS, it was a massive improvement. I might try 3.1.8 tonight.

Got even better on the last couple of percentages. Just letting it die to get battery calibrated. Now 3.1.8 is out its gonna have to be done all over lol. Can't refrain from flashing and flashing as soon as something else toddles along.

I know that feeling ;)

Would be nice if he stopped playing with things though, I'd like to go more than a week without seeing clockwork.

True but that said having had a look at the changelog I'm quite happy to stay with 3.1.7 BFS Non Call Record Kernel as there is only a couple minor tweaks I can live without atm and I'm happy enough with battery output.

2 and a half days by the end :D

I'm at 56% after 19.5 hours with the 3.1.8 kernel. Only watched a movie for around 90mins, and the rest of the time it was on standby. Well besides the times I turn it on to check the time. How much did you guys use it to get your mentioned battery lives?

10 or so mins of voice calls, 10 mins of Cut the Rope, a few texts, 10-15 mins of web browsing, a few emails via K9 and a bit of chatting on google talk. Screen on time of about 1 hour 30 mins.

Rest of the time it was sitting doing nothing.

I gave leedroid a try as of last night. Battery life seems on par with cm7, but its definitely not as quick as cm7 is. I'll be switching back tonight I think.

3.1.8 might not be as battery efficient as 3.1.7 as call recording has been re-enabled and the audio has been boosted. I've only ever had such battery life on non recording kernels. As for my usage its was probably about just over 2 hours screen on time. Made up of mostly phone calls, txt, LiveProfile, Twitter and Facebook and web browsing to check my bank balance, check here, and my Hotmail account, the sending of e-mails from GMail to get my Screenshots to the computer and updating of apps on the fly from the market. Nothing majorly battery intensive but as I was calibrating my battery again I thought I'd just see how long my phone would last. I know if I was to be watching any videos for as long as you or hammering the web constantly using the 3G/HSDPA connection it wouldn't have lasted 2 and a half days but just one. With your usage after 90mins of video showing 56% after 19hrs I'd be happy.

Me too... I don't get as good out of my DHD as many others on here, but then I am not bothered by having to charge my phone... it's easy enough to plus it in each night... the only time it'd be a bit of a pain is if you couldn't get to a power source! :)

Exactly give me 24 hours use and I'm sorted. Got a charger at work (Great for Doodle Fit lol) and a charger at home. I only ever bother to check the extremes of how long it can last when calibrating and over the weekend I had plenty of social occasions not requiring me to have my phone out lol.

I know, but it is nice to be able to say that, if I really needed to, I could have a battery life of 2 (and a bit) days... you never know when it'd come in handy. I guess that, should you start caining it on the calls after 2 days on the go, it would kill the battery, but it's to be expected! :)

Same here. Its nice to know I can get more than two days if needs be, but I didn't pay for the phone to not use it :p One charge a day is enough, and I usually have a cheapo spare battery with me if its an emergency.

Hey guys, Ive been reading that some of you flashed the All-in-One Sense 3.0 add on and seemed to like it.

I flashed the Sense 3.0 mod yesterday.. seemed to be a bit buggy for me still? Some HTC widgets that I use (People Widget) dissappeared, and also some strange/buggy results were found when i was scrolling through the widget list.

The other thing was that some of my apps shortcuts lost their icons and were showing as the 'android market' icon. I could remove the shortcut and replace it on my homescreen and the icon would be all good again, but it would revert back to the 'market' icon when i rebooted.

I liked the transition screens and the lock screen though, they were pretty smooth. Didnt like the loss of the scrolling wallpaper though!

I ended up just reverting back to the standard LeeDroid Rom without 3.0 and have decided to wait til it's a bit more polished. Just wondering if this is similar to what everyone else experienced when flashing the 3.0 mod? or did i just do something wrong along the way?

I've never bothered with the Sense 3.0 since my first flash as I wasn't wow'd by it. Launcher Pro and my own custom lockscreen fit the bill and work for me.

Anyone that uses Wifi, I recommend you don't install the new 3.3.0 update. I installed it and Wifi disconnects every few seconds, went back to 3.2.1

Same for me. The new HTC lockscreen is nice, but it offers nowhere near as much customisation as Widgetlocker.

I purchased WidgetLocker a few weeks ago, but I now have Sense 3.0 lock screen and prefer it to the WidgetLocker. But we all have different taste, so maybe i'm the only one who does :D
