Root Lets root this thing.

Hey its Relyks. This is my first post on here so it wouldnt let me post the link.


Has anyone tried this one it had no comments?
 
Has anyone tried using the backlight driver exploit? This has 2.3.7 correct? GiantPune found a backlight driver exploit on the LG Optimus Elite and it's 2.3.7.

I tried the poot. Apk no luck. if thats what you were talking about. if not please post a link
 
is their any other exploit for 2.3.7 that i can try ?
dosnt matter any phone running 2.3.7 thats has a root i will try
 
this has become a pain in the a** so im gonna enjoy my weekend so if anyone else what to the work just pm me which ones are ginger bread and ill be the test dummy
 
Here's a link. He mentions it might only be for LG phones using the same backlight driver but it's an exploit he found on 2.3.7 Optimus Elite for Virgin Mobile. You just never know. You guys should try a root method that involves using .tot files and something of the sort if possible. Maybe a .cab file? Anyone tried to just install a cwm from another phone with similiar properties to this one? Using ADB of course or something. Maybe check if Mobile Odin or desktop Odin supports the phone? Maybe using ADB to install a modified gingerkernel someone could make giving it a exploit you could use to gain root?

ive tried looking for a phone with similiar properties to this one. but i didnt find anything. if you can find one please share and i will try
 
would this give me a full rom dump if done..Index of /romdump cause i did try it everything worked i just dont know if dumped everything right. files i got was checksum.md5,system.tar,system.info,config
 
Isn't there a way to temporarily root it, manually push SU to the system, and chmod.it and set it's permissions? Idk if that can be done or if it even works but hey... lol

I have been trying everything. I' ma stuck I tried using terminal emulator to gain temp root access with su command and a few other commands I found online access denied. I tried tricking it by using diffrent drivers. The only tthing I got to work is is Gingerbreak and it never finishes rooting. When I first tried it it wouldnt even try working. I guess thats progress. I am watching this thread, all the time. Thanks Guys.
 
Ok guys I've bin posting everywhere trying to get help with rooting. I've had one response from android Central,coolpad quattro was halfway rooted. And to keep checking his site for updates http://coolpadroot.webs.com/ nothing really happin on the site as of now but maybe something will become of it

there is no such thing as 75% rooted. either its rooted or its not. as scary alien pointed out earlier dan's exploits are your best shot. z4root uses rage against teh cage, super one click uses gingerbreak or zergrush. those exploits have all been patched for a good bit. there isnt going to be just a simple easy root. ill ask dan to take a look into rooting this phone for us, from there ill kick you guys out a cwm if he gets root and then ill leave you guys to make roms.

as a sincerely doubt some random chinese manufactuer kicked out good kernel source when others like zte and huweai still cnat figure it out... which would prolly be an extreme uphill battle for any form of custom kernels

Well if the site owner was trying to scam or whatever don't you think would gave me a donation link when ask instead I was told to wait in till its rooted. To contribute. Weird!

didnt say it was a scam, just a joke. dude goes on talking about how to make roms using a kicthen, the absolute laughing stock of developers everywhere.
