I tried it a couple of weeks ago as well and went back to sense because I found LP too slow; however, the latest build is much faster.

I liked ADW but, for some reason, I had a lot of issues with FCs. Everytime I clicked on the pure messenger widget, it would shut down, so that's when I decided to give LP another shot. So far, so good.
 
Thanks. Everyone else was commenting that LP was fast, so I didn't say anything and just removed it. I'm gonna miss having 6 dock icons, but I'll figure something out or just go back to ADW.

I had the same thing happen and found out there's a setting in Pure Messenger that was causing the issue. As long as that one box is unchecked it works perfectly. Haven't had a single FC in 4 days now.
 
OK, so I just recreated my setup on the new Launcher Pro and I'm pretty impressed. It's MUCH faster than previous versions...mybe the quickest launcher I've tried yet. The extra row is just awesome! It did take some tweaking to get my 3 main screen widgets fit without overlapping (Better Smaller Home/Pure Calendar 4x2/Pure Messenger 4x2), but it turned out great! Some might find it jammed packed with too much info, but this is perfect for my needs. I might add a 4th screen and move FB and another widget over to it since I don't even really check it unless I'm bored, and add 2 more feeds to the news page. Only thing I could ask for is the option to increase the dock to 6 icons. That would be perfect!!! I made a few changes in my folder setup so it's fine, but I'd love to get two more icons. Also wouldn't mind a few more dock design choices. I like the Glass, but it's ripped from the iPhone so it makes me feel dirty. :p

This looks slick! so much fun customizing :D I love LP since it's inception and this newest version adds some great tweaks...I remember when I first tried it how much potential it has!
 
Sorry to keep posting, but I'm loving LP with the 5 rows and with this new background I think I'm done! Really, I am. :D

I really like having the ability to have 6 icons in the doc. Although I am going to stick with LP, I am curious as to which button in ADW cured your FC issues with the pure widget. (At the rate ADW and LP are updating their respective launchers, I can see myself going back and forth as a "new" feature is released!)

Tap on message launch internal viewer instead of original application was the culprit. It's about halfway down under Internal Viewer. As soon as I checked it Pure Messenger gave constant FC's.

I'm really hoping LP adds the 6 dock icons, but I'll take 5 rows over that at this point. Guess I should uninstall ADW at this point as I have 3 launchers running right now. :(
 
I have a weather widget and a beautiful widget question. What should be the behavior of a "widget".

I have installed beautiful widgets and I've noticed that if I click on it, it opens up a 3 day forecast. If I want a more "detailed" forecast, is it possible to do this from the widget? When I click on the widget, it doesn't open up any weather program, it just opens up the 3 day, and if I click on a day, it closes the widget and returns to the home screen.

The same is the case for the stock weather widget. The only weather widget that links me to a more detailed forecast is if I use the weather channel widget.

You have to set the weather program in the BW settings. When you first put the widget on your home page, scroll through the settings. Near the bottom are three options for what to do when you click on the time, the date, and the weather. For the weather, what'll happen is you click on the widget, see the 3 day, then tap THAT and it'll open your program of choice. I chose weather.com.

I figured it was something as simple as this...But the big problem I'm having is that I don't have those options in BW. I don't have the "3 options". After "CLOCK FONT", there are no more choices further down.
 
hey guys, how are you getting the calender and clock widgets like that, When I use LP, the only widget I can add is the crappy analogue clock and small calendar window

...really? Have you updated lately? There should be three options, then "short date format", then "hide background" followed by background opacity, then widget text, weather icon pack, hide weather icon, weather live wallpaper, save/apply, and finally skins. Which of those are you missing?

Oh my Goodness, something so simple that has been eating at me for over 10 hours was simply solved by updating!!! LOL! Thnks!!!!!!!

Ok but now, when I go to "download skins," i get the "loading skins list" and it goes and goes and goes, then I get an error. How can I solve this?? Thanks so much!

That part must be down, because it's not working for me either.
 
is there any tutorial help out there for launcher pro? I mean like a basic beginner for the total i do not have a clue help me out starting point something? I guess BB was not so smart of a smart phone cause that was easy to learn. the dinc has me stumped with all of the things you can do with it. And you pros have made it everything I want it to be.

I'm with u on this one. I downloaded launcher pro and uninstalled it within minutes bc I wasn't sure how to get things to work. Too many options, which for me, as a new Droid user, means too many ways to screw things up. :(

That would be really helpful. Also I'm curious...I know rooting your phone will void the warranty and you can really mess up the phone if you don't know what you're doing. And I know a launcher isn't the same thing as root, but you're still changing some of the features of the phone that are normally unchangeable. So I know what a launcher can do but what exactly is it doing? And how harmless is it (especially for people who don't have experience with it)?
 
I'm still not done (I use 3 screens and feel I can know go down to 2). With the new LP update I'm liking it better and better I rarely if ever go into the app drawer with the new 5 row option :-)

C'mon, I'm trying to convince myself I'm happy. :p

Just in case I do get bored, what calendar widget is that? I thought it was Pure Agenda at first, but I can't figure out how to get those dates in there...unless it's part of the skin. Setup looks very nice! For some reason mine doesn't rotate into landscape mode, but I don't care.
 
For you guys looking to try out either a launcher or some of these apps, don't be worried. There's nothing happening that's going to mess up your phone. If you don't like an app or widget, just delete it. The launchers sit on top of Sense, so again, it's not doing anything to your normal settings. When you hit the home button, it actually asks which launcher you want to go to until you set a default. I had Sense, Launcher Pro and ADW all running at the same time and was swapping between them for comparisons. Deleted ADW last night and set LP as the default now, but that can be changed back to Sense in 3 seconds.

So to sum up, just download and try some stuff out. You're not going to mess anything up. ;)

Thx! It is pure agenda and is one of the skins. They recently had an update and it is now extremely customizable! Mine rotates just fine I wonder why yours doesn't
