Lets see your internet speed!

I'm on a shared cable connection, so it differs a lot from time to time. The fastest I've got was downloading with 8MB/s, which would be around 70Mbit/s or something.

Here's one with a different speed tester, taken right now so should be about the same, but isn't:

Doubt away guys. As I said I'm on a shared connection, as a student on the network run by the Danish Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation under the Ministry for Science, Technology and Innovation. They have some serious backbones and when you hit a low period, you get insane speeds.
It's not like it's in a regular apartment from a standard ISP.

Forskningsnettet is the high-speed network which connects and has been connecting Danish universities and research institutions since 1987. Today, about 100 institutions are connected. In 2008 Forskningsnettet was upgraded and now has its own optical fibers. This means higher speed and more stability for the end-users of Forskningsnettet.
Forskningsnettet has its own optical fiber infrastructure with 1 Gbps and 10 Gbps Ethernet connections. These connections ensure that Forskningsnettet can provide researchers, students and teachers with optimum connections for transmission of large amounts of data as well as global cooperation.

I am relaxed, I just wanted to clarify.
All I can say is what I saw, and that was around 8MB/s and once in a while it paused a download to let my harddisk save the cache. It happened during holidays, so most people wouldn't have been on the network, and the network is quite capable.

I've noticed some thing in my post that us in the uk very low upload speed when I was on 20meg I only got 700 kbits

The UK average broadband speed is a pathetic 2 or 3 MB/s. Whereas the rest of the developed world generally has much faster. Japan has an average of like 70MB/s.

Well when your sschool is its own isp that doesn't count. Ok guys, let's NOT post connections that cosr over 1k usd per month unless its running into your home, which you own.
