Let's see your Thunderbolt screens.

Using the SDK... just because that one guy said I wouldn't.

Ok guys it is not that hard. PLEASE list apps. Sure some of us know what certain apps are, but there are more and more people that are new to android here and will not know that clock widget is "whatever by whoever", regardless on how many times it shows up in a shot.

Do not get mad if your post is deleted

For some reason I'm having a hell of a time getting that to download. It's giving me a crazy 1 hour estimate for it to finsh. After it d/l's a few MB's it will cancel on it's own

Just finished a bit ago with dling that...Must be a TON of folks using up their bandwidth cause it took a little over two hours to finish. lol.

Yea it took me over 2 as well. The first couple times I tried to d/l it, it would get like 20-30 minutes in and cancel on me, beyond frustrating. At least I have the SDK package now in case I feel brave enough to root this bad boy manually

Yeah, I downloaded all of that stuff as well. Still deciding if I want to root this way or not. Im new to the android so yeah. Dont wanna kill my phone.

One thing I noticed about using the XDA Skins is that they do not work in Car Mode when docked on the car dock. The screen reverts to some random default skin but ironicaly its a custom skin that came from XDA but just not the one you are using at the time. Looks like XDA needs to develope a Landscape skin into these custom skins. Just thought I would share since many are using these skins. The stock hTC skins work perfect in Landscape of course.

Edit: If you go to XDA, look for gadget, his Skins for the Thunderbolt/Incredible/Desire work in Landscape just fine.

Maybe Im just ******ed, but in my defense, Im new to the droid. How exactly do I load these onto my bolt? Ive read you dont have to root, but I cant figure out WHERE to place these on the Bolt. Little help would be awesome, then I can post my screens.

Are you talking about the themes? If so you dont have to be rooted. Just put them in the root of your sd card. Install a file manager (astro) then find it in astro. Click on it and install it. Go to skins and boom its there.

Had to make a new layout after flashing The Perfect Storm. Widgets should be self explanatory, if you don't know please ask

I spent way too much time the other day trying to be able to take a screen shot (not rooted) and could not get my device recognized. I really wanted to show it off, but I gave up. :) I'll be the old-school person that will just take pictures and post them.

From the Android SDK and AVD Manager, ensure that the Google USB Driver package is installed. Locate the file android_winusb.inf (mine was found at "C:\Program Files\Android\android-sdk\extras\google\usb_driver") and open it a text editor. Within that file locate the line that starts with "[Google.NTx86]" and add the following lines directly below it:

; HTC Thunderbolt
%SingleAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_0BB4&PID_0CA4
%CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_0BB4&PID_0CA4&MI_01

Repeat this step under the section beginning with "[Google.NTamd64]".

Save the file. Then, go to Device Manager, find the ADB device with the yellow bang on it, then go to manually update the driver, point to the driver file you modified, and you'll be golden. =)

Sounds simple enough......lol

How did you get your phone to look like this? I have tryed downloading the screens but it didnt work

What do you mean by "it didn't work"? Did you get an error message when you tried to install the skins?

If you did get an error, make sure you to this from the home screen: Press menu > make sure "Unknown sources" box is checked.

If you did not get an error after installing the skin, then you have to apply the skin (it doesn't change anything when you install it). From the home screen: Press the "Personalize" button on the bottom dock (far right button) > Select "Skin" > scroll to find the new skin you installed and select "Apply".
