Lets us peek at your Screens!

At last, after working on it for about a month, 60 pages of of this thread and about 8 hrs of beating my head against photoshop (never used it before) I finally have a setup I'm happy with :D

Special thanks goes to Jgrand for all the help and inspiration.

Wow! That looks amazing!!! Sry for the newbie question, but can this only be done with a rooted phone? Haven't had the time to go back through the whole thread and see what the deal is. But, again, this is beautiful!!!

dude this looks great!

Thanks!

That's the beauty of the android os because you can do all this without being rooted. Here's how you do it.

1) get launcher pro and upgrade to launcher pro plus ($2.99) - This allows you to resize the icons, get rid of the notification bar so everything fits and makes the desktop 4 columns x 5 rows instead of the stock 4x4 layout.

2) Desktop Visualizer app (free) - This lets you put over sized widgets which can be assigned to be shortcuts to apps and folders. It also allows you to assign custom icons to the shortcut which is mainly how you get the look. Then you just resize everything to fit with launcher pro plus.

3) Folder organizer lite (free) - This is personal preference as their are other apps that can do this but basically you need it so you can change the icons to your folders and apps.

4) The dock was from Jgrand03, he has a drop box with a bunch of stuff he created and collected. You can find something there that you like or create your own. Use launcher pro to change the dock look and populate it with whatever shortcuts and apps that you want. And you can change the icons too. If you want blanks or want to use a portion of the dock as the app draw icon, you need to create a blank icon which you can grab from this thread or create your own. Then use launcher pro to assign the blank icon to the app drawer.

Decided to take the jump into a theme, but only wanted to get my feet wet, so went with Alpha Burst or something posted on XDA.

Used the dock background I found on here a few pages ago and changed it a little. I'd like to make some nice icons but I wouldn't know how to begin as all I know how to do in photoshop is crop, resize and sharpen images :p

You may find it easier to work with a dedicated icon program as you're new to photoshop. Try Axialis IconWorkshop for starters. To learn just pop some existing icons in and see how they've done it. It's pretty easy

I really like that wallpaper. Where you get it. its not live is it? Cause if it is , that will surely rock.

TS out

Twospirits,

Sorry for the delay, The wallpaper is from an app called "HD Space and SkyWallpapers" by Hero Planet.

Unfortunately it is not live, man that would be phenomenal. Also, the app won't store it on the SD card so you must keep the app installed to hang this pic.

I was able to grab it from within the app.

I actually found this image in a web search but only the thumbnail was available and it looked like crap enlarged. There is another version of this image with the continents in a different color...not bluish.

WOW! You da Man!

Now if someone could just make it live, with the little planes flying on their lines, the oceans swirling with currents and the jetstreams trailing each plane. HAHAHAHA.

Yeah, ummm...can't help you with the Live part... :)

Anyway, within the app it gives you a Share option with each image. I tried it with Gmail and Photobucket and it wouldn't work. I ended up sharing it via Twitpic and that did it.

****Edit****
Apparently the share via Gmail option worked. I accidentally selected my work email as the recipient instead of my main.

yeah after searching for the image on the web (it took all night last night and part of this morning) I found that its made by VladStudios. man that guy can make some kick butt screens.
anyway the blue version is here (in different resolutions) as well as the brown one also here.

As for making it a live wallpaper, google is my friend. I found out that there are quite a few tutorials on how to make live wallpapers. I just might try it out. If successful, it would truly be one nice live wallpaper.
What would really be cool is to have little tiny androids instead of the planes circling the globe. lol if anyone knows how to make it I'll surely pay for it. :D

Sorry, wish I had seen your inquiry yesterday to save you the trouble of such an extensive search, but had I answered we (you) would not have discovered and shared his profound work. he really has a huge multitude of rockin wallpapers. Thanks.

its no biggie. Doing the search actually helped me find some awesome pc wallpapers.

Looking at the step by step guides on how to create a animated live wallpaper is way over my head. So i guess a static wallpaper will do for now. :D

its an icon. I dont know where the original picture came from for it though so i cant help on on that. Just ask her man, its a legit way to spark up a convo. Tell her you like her background on her phone asd ask her where she got it

Does anyone have this wallpaper for the Evo 960x800? I've looked everywhere and can't find it for the Evo and I don't know how to make it work with the desired resolution without it looking like crap. Thanks.

Its just Beautiful Widgets - skin is "Smokey" and the weather skin is "Tick"

I just installed those and for some reason the positioning of the date is different and it doesnt display the location. I've tried different options but I can't get it to look like that one.

It could be something with the theme I'm using - it changes the default font so maybe it doesn't cause something to wrap like the default font does - I don't know.

Edit: I posted a screeny with the same exact widget combo on page 58 and you're right; location isn't displayed. I really don't know - do you have the latest version of Beautiful Widgets? They've put out a few updates in the last week.

Edit 2: I think the latest version of BW (3.14) improved the layout and added city.

I just reinstalled my Beautiful widgets and used the skins that SprintFun mentioned and was able to get a similar result. I'm not using any theme.

Did you set your location under "Set Location"? I used the geolocation option.

*EDIT* You also have to use the Beautiful Smaller Home widget not the regular Beautiful Home to get the layout like SprintFun has.

Here's what I've come up with after a few hours of tinkering with different customization apps. It's not much - I'm still getting used to my freshly rooted Evo. :D
