LG Ally Update Coming January 17th?

So does dialing in from Velocity ROM block the call from even dialing? If I try just to see if anything is pending I get the "cannot connect as dialed" recording.
 
I'm assuming you can't update using the tool if you're running a custom ROM/recovery, and as such would have to revert to a stock ROM/recovery?

Someone needs to get their hands on that and make an update.zip. Im currently at work, but im excited to make a froyo when i get the time.

dots I already have kernel source for froyo 2.6.32.9 kernel. Please stay on 2.2.1 and lets hope bootloader has fastboot. Can you verify and try to flash recovery via fastboot and get me a nandroid? If not I'll need someone to capture & upload the ota.zip and I'll have to mod it to be flashed via custom recovery.

I am really concerned about the root problems. :confused:
How have other devices handled this?

When i try adb reboot-bootloader all i it does is start reboot, i see the LG logo, then a black screen for abour 5-10 seconds then the verizon animation comes up and normal boots. We actually have a nandroid on irc.

Apparently applying the update through the mobile updater doesnt wipe the custom recovery.

Stupid question but did anyone think to try Universal Androot. I know Most likely it will fail since it failed on ZVC but it may be worth the shot.
I mean you dont know till you try right?

What about you Drellisdee.... you think you could cook up an app that would root it?
Or maybe modify an existing one that would do the trick?

Please upload and pm me link to nandroid system and boot.img. Was radio updated too?
