According to LG, the 805 phone coming later will have a different RF subsystem. Unless the FCC changed rules just for Verizon and I missed it, a different RF subsystem will by necessity require a separate battery of tests for that reason alone. That didn't happen.

Edit - forgot to mention - a lot of popular phones never sold here get FCC certifications. It's quite the standard practice. Phones show up on our networks thanks to travellers and creative shoppers. For that to be legal, they have to pass the FCC same as any others.
