LG G3 Pre-release/Rumor/Speculation Thread

Hey, tell LG to send you a device so you do hard test for us :-).

That would probably violate my non-disclosure and non-compete agreements.

Many of the parts in your existing home and mobile devices were tested with my processes during their manufacture.

Wish I could help more, sorry.

The wifi / video test I posted earlier isn't objective - but - it is less subjective, naming sources and procedures, allowing for controlled variability and is biased to give a reference answer for your personal device.

That's really the best I can offer, hope it helps! :)

What you consider would be the best source or method for truly testing the lg g3s battery and performance capabilities with the QHD display?

Keep an eye on anandtech.com - they rarely do a bad job.

And do it yourself when you get yours. You may be surprised at what you'll learn setting up your own battery tests - many that have tried it have thanked me.

This isn't just another phone. It has significant new things and things you don't think have changed but you don't know. Put it through its paces and see what secrets it holds.

That's what I do. :)

And it is pretty fun - as phone fun goes. :)

LG G3 Variants: What Wasn't Revealed in the Launch Event

If their source is right, 16/2 might be what Sprint variant is going to be with a 599.99 retail value

I think Verizon will sell the 2/16 with 90% confidence. They will at LEAST probably sell the 2/16 in stores and I am hoping a 3/32 version can be ordered on line. I have a 50% confidence factor with the 3/32 happening.

Two curve balls will be the production efficiency of the display (orders heavily allocated) and is the 3/32 the first model run, and then the 2/16 will happen next? Probably both at the same time, since not much difference other than the main circuit boards. Well, there are the power plug differences that are packed at the end and of course different colors, a few radios, box art, pubs etc ;)

I try to rationalize the 3/32, but not seeing it make sense selling on it's own- at least not with Verizon. A Best Buy manager told me today that Tmo has short term exclusivity with the 3/32 version. Thankfully he is not 100% accurate with historic results and trending with a coin flip.

Added: Verizon would 100% surprise me if just sells the 3/32.

Ugh...kinda frustrating to see this 2 months ago, if Sprint doesn't end up offering it:
LG LS990 details leak on Sprint's site, hint at 2560x1440 display | PhoneDog

I'd almost not buy the G3, just out of principal of the leak divulging most of the original stats.

At the risk of starting it up again  -

Here it is, for the world and variations shown for each carrier.

LG G3 full specs

Verizon, T-Mo, AT&T - 3/32

Sprint - either 2/16 or both models, I can't make that out.

Keep your shirts on. :D

Were it not for the Sprint version, I'd have won that danged bet!

BTW - they don't list CDMA frequencies for either Verizon or Sprint, so specs may still be in flux.

:dontknow: Doubt it.

So that does show both versions after all.

Not sure why you wouldn't buy it because an earlier blog got it right.

To clarify, I'm just saying, if it ended up being only the 16/2, not both. Just the fact that early leaks of a 32/3 existing with Sprint model number, but for whatever reason, Sprint scrapped that...I'd consider not getting it, out of principal.

It's the good and the bad of how easy it is to find info on the internet nowadays.

FWIW,T-MO had the FLEX data w/an SD Card on their website from Day One of pre-orders,despite no one on this planet had it,not even Korea.

Only soon after the actual release did the SD Card slot disappear. ;)

I just chalked that up to a copy & paste from another phones similar specs,Best Buy does it all the time.

Soooooo,we could all be in for a surprise, until someone does a thorough review of each carrier model.
