***lg lucid ics root***

Make sure u backup all ur block partitions before you try CWM recovery. On my Spectrum it nuked my 4g and imei. It might not do it for the Lucid but just a heads up as ICS on ours that was leaked has some security block that would let u boot after installing cwm.

well this worked for me but I now cannot turn my phone on....it installed fine and i removed all the bloatware but now when I reboot I get a screen with th LG logo and it says "security error"

I've removed the battery and keeps repeating, any ideas?

I also held power and volume down to do a factory reset with no success

Number one rule is to always backup before making any changes. You must have deleted something you shouldn't have. New stock roms always require experimenting to see which is safe to remove.

If you didn't have a backup then you try running the update tool again. Good luck.

I'm getting a similar error, but only when I try to go into recovery. Phone and root work otherwise. Any ideas?

You need to do a .cab restore in download mode or call vzw for a replacement. You guys r gonna keep bricking ur phones if u debloat it or put CWM on it. Ics has a locked bootloader and any changes it detects locks up ur phone. I suggest stopping root till an exploit is found to bypass ics security.

Actually you can use the ICS root tool above. It works great, I've rooted my phone turned it off overnight and back on. I've also turned it off and on several times and it boots with no errors so far. Now I have not installed CWM or tried to debloat anything so it could be something in those causing the problems.

The LG motion does the same thing. Trying to install a recovery will lead to a soft brick as well as uninstalling some stock apps. Try looking at the motion's safe apps to remove list, you could get an idea of what's safe to remove.

Can you get the ics firmware cab?

Here's the message I got when I installed cwm on the spectrum. This nuked my 4G and imei. Maybe somebody here can find an exploit for this on ics. Pretty sure you'll get the same error. Hope this helps somehow to find us both a fix,

Long time no see! ????????
Sounds like LG's way of saying, congratz you bricked your phone and we will NOT help you......

After upgrading i looked for an universal root method for ics phones. i found one on the XDA Forums, it works. all the credit goes them them i only found it.

This does NOT actually root the LG Lucid. It says success. But if you read the command log as it goes it failed. You are not root.

If you get the security error to get out of it make sure you have the LG support tool. Start it and put phone in download mode (vol/up vol/dwn pwr) then select phone recovery in the drop down menu. It will talk to the phone then download ICS and install it again. I found this out the hardway, I use Titanium backup and used the integrate system updates into rom which I did.... Seems this new rom doesn't like any changes at all being done to it.....

So, simply put, there is no root (yet) for ICS on LG Lucid?
If thats the case then DAMN, I only got ICS by accident, I tried using Mobile Odin Pro just to find out its not compatible but somethimg happened to make my phone automatically restart & when it got to the main screen (after the LG splash screen) it started with the setup wizard like it was just bought or just had a full data wipe done, which I didn't do. After going through the setup again, I thought that all my apps were still there but it was just the icons 'cause every time I tried to open one it kept saying the app was not installedbut still had the icons for them all. I blame either/both Mobile Odin Pro and/or Absolute System Root Tools, anyways, I used the VZW Upgrade Tool on the computer to redo it, after doing a factory data reset, & ended up with 4.0.4, never even knew it was possible.

In the playstore there's an app called Online Nandroid Backup that dosent require booting into recovery to backup. I don't know if it uses cwm but it does need busybox installed to work. Can somebody try this and share their backup if it works?

If yoi dont extract the files and put them on yoir compjter it will run all those errors. I did ot thay way first and thats what happened i then actually extract those files to a folder onu laptop and tried it again i didnt get any errors and i am rooted
