Hey kwknott, thought you might be interested in this...guide for deodexing for ART compatibility.
http://www.xda-developers.com/deodex-lollipop-system-apps-with-ease/

Also, something of interest, I am running ART, and I am using Xposed, even though that article says Xposed is not compatible with ART.

Uh...scratch that...I just looked and it's on Dalvik. O.o I swear to god it was on ART for a few days. Just tried to switch again and it refused.

Thanks, I'll take a look at that link when I get a chance.

Sounds like the software update or lgatcmd apps are missing.

They're all there. I recently transferred my number from one boost phone to another so maybe it happened during that process.. It worked well, zv5 update came and bricked, downgraded and then had to upgrade from zv4 to 5. now I get no data lol

Weird...are you using CWM or TWRP recovery? You should be using TWRP...CWM is causing issues like this.

Flashed this last night, did some debloating today but wasn't very carefull about backing up. I'm going to start over again and be smart about it, but what i noticed was that the rom was lightning fast night, began to get stuttery and hardly useable this afternoon, and then bootlooped when I restarted just a bit ago.
Now after a factory reset and wipe from TWRP i loads but ive lost root and it looks like it went back to stock image but minus any system files i removed. ill redownload, try it again but let it settle for a few days before debloating or theming...I got so excited I didnt want to wait to dig in.

This ZV5 rom is working well so far, but I miss some of the stock apps.
Is there some easy way to get them back?
I liked the 'flashlight widget', the memory meter, and FMradio.

They weren't system apps but preload apps that got installed as regular apps at first boot. I can upload them and post links If you like. Then you'll just have to download them and install as a regular app. Give me a bit and I'll try to do it.

Try dashlight. I use it with Chronus, but it can be a stand alone widget. I never had a radio app, but you can use NextRadio. GravityBox has an option to add a RAM bar in the recent list.

Thank! If you could please post links for them I would really appreciate it!

Does anyone else experience cliff-like drop offs, when they reboot their phone, in battery life? I've never experienced this with any other phone, but it's happening with this one since day one. It came with zv4 and now I'm on zv5 and it still does it.

Got a question that I hope it's something I'm doing wrong. I loaded this rom up and am running with data and everything working as needed. I used my titanium backup to restore some of my settings and apps from my previous zv3 (rooted) image. I saved that as a backup - and now I have zv5 rooted and running good. It seems snappy and quick (which is what I was hoping for) and I'm also hoping to see a wee bit better battery. However, I came across a potential issue and hopefully it's just something I am doing incorrectly.

I run VM and I do not pay them for wifi tethering. On my original rooted (stock) zv3 rom I was able to circumvent the tethering restriction by getting it rooted and loading up an app called Portable wifi hotspot. I loaded it onto the deoxed rom in this thread and I am getting an error from my phone stating: I do not have that feature enabled from my data provider. Did zv5 place in some type of restriction? Do I need to change my wifi tethering app.

I verified by restoring my original rooted rom that tethering does work with zv3, just not with this attached rom. :( ANY help ideas?

Also - THANK YOU so much for this rom and thank you for any future updates (de-bloated) and the like. :)

Is this the app? Its description doesn't say anything about root. It doesn't seem to be intended to bypass anything. It just adds WiFi tethering if your phone doesn't already have it. As for why it worked before, I don't know. Maybe it was accidentally using an exploit since the Volt doesn't have WiFi tethering to start with, and it was patched later.

This is what everyone is using: WiFi Tether Router

Hi, Does anyone know when the Odexed ROM will be out (want to try ART)?

Thanks,
WG

I reposted the link to the partially debloated, rooted, odexed ZV5. I have a full odexed ZV5 but it fails to flash for some reason. Haven't had a lot of time to mess with it so hopefully the slightly debloated version will be OK till then

THAT is the app. Sorry I was just going by it's listed description in my phone. That is the app that I have been using but now it's not working (with the rom from this thread). :(

I have to say I have always had a poor Wi-Fi experience even when signal is powerful. It tends to lag no matter what. My Wi-Fi router isn't the problem. ISP is 25mbps down. It seems like maybe a poor kernel? It doesn't matter what rom I have used either. I don't know, but I pray for a solution some day.
