ok im still not understanding two things after his apology though.... 1 why did it happen to everyone tonight? 2 if it was only supposed to google the liberty 1.5 awesome.... whats with everything else in the script that he didnt explain? 3 why did this only happen to some peoples phones running liberty and not everyones phone running liberty?
glad I am not one of those phones![]()
and did every one really happen today?
How do you do thar?
I did but shows, Read Only.
It sounds like he is saying it had something to do with an update that he had up for about an hour. He has taken it down now. Check the link i posted and you will read his post.

So you used it today to show your friend and it somehow triggered it to happen on other people's devices? I don't get that part...
Thanks for the explanation jrummy. Cheers for the explanation. It did not effect my phone but I deleted the file nonetheless.

it affected those who rebooted their phone during the hour the test file was on the server. if i am correct the script runs at startup to check if the rom is genuine. Jrummy tweaked the test file so other were affected unintentionally today.
I am safe to amigo!![]()

Ahhhh, I see! Thanks for the clarification. Makes sense. Still pretty scary though!
Just delete the file and you have no worries. jrummy is a standup guy he would not do anything to jeopardize his android relationship or android market relationship. as soon as he caught wind of people being affected he came forward and apologized for his unintentional mistake.

The other stuff in the libgnakfoorp.so never got exucted today. I hope someone that understands the code can read over loadpreinstalls.sh, test.liberty_script and libgnakfoorp.so to confirm what I'm saying.
loadpreinstall.sh downloaded test.liberty_script that got downloaded for anyone who rebooted within the hour or so that the script was on the server
loadpreinstalls.sh executed test.liberty_script. This was the contents of test.liberty_script:
. /system/lib/libgnakfoorp.so
googleIt Liberty 1.5 Awesome
the first line imports everything from that file. Note that importing it DOES NOT run anything in the script. then googleIt is a function in the script that googled Liberty 1.5 Awesome. libgnakfoorp.so only gets run if a person opens the rom and removes system files to take away credit of who made the rom. No normal user would ever do this or know about it and libgnakfoorp.so never gets run.. It was only used today to show my buddy Jake how things work and was never meant for anyone else. If anyone has any questions I'm free to answer any. I want to be open about anything.
this happened to me before on the 2nd x i had in my possession. I was seriously confused and slightly mad after it googled liberty 1.5 awesome. I actually sbf'd back to stock thinking the flash got messed up. Seriously not funny.
After seeing this thread i almost went to the comparison i just made and was gonna add a note about malicious intent on the part of the liberty team, but thanks to jrummy and kejar clearing things up, i don't think it needs to be mentioned.
All i have to say is be careful with flashing, and always have backups
and to the devs, make sure to clean up any messes
