Root Liberty Dialer .....help!!!!!!!!

Did that. It started back up and stopped after about 10 minutes of going thru files and isn't doing anything. Yellow line never started. No buttons do anything.

Oh shit :(

Battery pull and a prayer or three?

Have insurance. Water plunge? Hate to think of doing that as it's all my fault...

What does "yellow line never started " mean? It can take a while for the first boot after doing a restore to boot up, wait it out, don't interrupt it by pulling the battery or anything.

The line at that bottom that shows it's progress of restoring. Never started. Stuck on file...AVMC_USA_-3067001206101700747. No longer cycling thru files. Locked up or it seems.

If you wiped the System files prior to trying the restore, you can't pull the battery. If you do, there will be no system files there on bootup.

You might be looking at a session with RSD Lite and some sbf files now.

And how do i get that on the phone if it's locked up and I can't restart it? Or can it be pulled up to acertain point where it will load something?.
Or is that brought it thru PC somehow?

RSD Lite will hopefully detect your device and you will be able to flash it back to life using the linked sbf files.

Didn't seem to get anywhere doing that so I just did a battery pull and it came up somehow. First Liberty logo came up, then the Droid red eye and then the phone came up. Have some phone contacts and all my pictures.
Will see if i can get a complete phone contact back up at Verizon.

Thanks for your help!

No more ROMS for me. Thank you very much.

Wow, wish I saw this earlier. I had the same thing happen to me. I logged into Verizon Wireless online and exported my contacts as a .CSV, then I logged into gmail and imported the CSV into my contacts. I forced a gmail sync and everything was gravy. You didn't need to restore a back up or flash an sbf. Good learning experience for ya though!

Looks like you weren't alone in your problem with contacts and VZW backup assistant:

Major deal breaker for me.................thought i had a ROM that was the cats meow but i lost my Favorites folder and lots of my contacts went from phone and mail to only mail. No VZW backup Assistant to get my contacts back. I am talking about contacts i have had for years.................... ?????????????
Used Rom Manager to restore my Apex backup and all went well................all my contacts are back.

Does anyone have an answer to this...............the Droid X is a PHONE first and a toy second......................i do however LOVE the toy part............LOL :):)

As long as you created a back up via bootstrapper you can not screw your phone up too bad. The worst case scenario all you have to do is download rsd on your comp and the system version and follow instructions and it will bring it back to new in box condition then you just have to recover your back up and you are golden. I know nothing about phones or computers and i have figured out how to fix a phone that i was about to throw away or sell for parts. If you need help with this pm me and i will send links to easy to follow instrustions.

I got my phone contacts back via VZW Backup Assisstant(much to the naysayer's dismay :) ).
Loaded a Market apk and it is working now.

Now my "problem". When I turn the phone off the ^*&^&*^& LIBERTY logo pops up instead of the Motorola M. Then it cycles thru the Red eye then comes up with the menu for Reboot sytem etal.
I did get my Yahoo account set back up and am receiving e-mails also.

Any ideas for getting me back toward a stock phone would be appreciated. I see the message above and will PM him for help but other ideas would be helpful.

My sincere thanks for all that helped me along here. Couldn't have gotten this far without you.

But right now i have a functional phone and would be content to stay at this point if I have to.

When you tried to sbf your phone, did you put your phone in Bootloader mode? (Turn off phone. Hold power home and volume down till it shows bootloader. Hook to usb and open rsd lite).

Once you get your device to stock by flashing the sbf files I linked to in this thread, you can reroot, install bootsrapper, and restore your backup.

The sbf files will get rid of the Liberty boot logo and the backup will restore you back to where you were before this all happened.
