no need for your computer if you are already rooted. all you need to do is have the rom download to the sd card. you can either use a cimputer and move the file to the sd card. or you can download the rom directly from your phone. all of the flashing is done in recovery on your phone.

So I can download any ROM to my phone without clockwork mod or ROM manager? I always wondered that but never knew. Sweet.except its going slow and is a little over halfway done so I am using outer does this one. Very good to know though thanks very muxh

ok first of all ditch both rom manager and cwm. they do not do a very good job of wiping and rom manager is very buggy and causes more issues then it is worth.

you still need a recovery to flash a rom. cwm is a recovery and rom manager use cwm to flash roms. but i would do everything manually.

use the http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all...ooting-dummies-guide-gingerbread-edition.html and skip the rooting section. go to the after root section and read up on how to switch recoveries and how to flash a rom among others.

Oh yeah I hate CWM and rom manager, but due to a rooting mishap I'm stuck with it. I have a lot going on and am getting a new phone in a few weeks so not gonna bother fixing it. I can make it 2 weeks without amon ra til then

Oh p.s. just so everyone knows I'm not a complete noob with all this been rooting and flashing ROMS, kernels, recoveries etc. for a little over a year now. That being said I'm not even close to having your knowledge or most of the awesome people on heres knowledge. I do think if I would have joined here when I first started rooting I'd know a lot more in that years time you people are like a gold mine of info. Thanks for you and everyone else's help. Like I said I'm really comfortable with the whole rooting flashing and all that but now that I've been on here I will have a lot of questions as time goes on. I learned to root on my own by looking info up(then again that was before the update when revolutionary was all it took) so there's a lot of things I have yet to learn. In fact about to post a question now that I just thought of. Thanks to u and everyone else for helping us idiots learn that this is actually a lot easier than it sounds

Android is based on Linux. So they go together quite well ;)

As long as you can download the ROM and get it onto your SD card, it doesn't matter what computer you are on.

yeah, the computers OS is rather removed from the equation when your flashing via the phones recovery. And, not to beat a dead horse, but get amon ra... srsly And (Ocn will attest to this in spades, but) avoid the touchscreen recoveries.
