Root Liquid 3.0 Final Link Up

From a Liquid post:

"Working out minor kinks on other devices... I am hoping to release this as soon as its ready (Friday cough cough) sorry for the long delay but this is by far the biggest release i have ever done by a long shot."

edit: when I get a link to the rom I'll change the thread title so you know.

nice. i am looking forward to an updated liquid 3.0.
i reflashed the older 3.0 on my TB again 2 days ago to give it another shot, but reverted back to 2.6 again this morning because 2.6 gives me more reliable data connection and better battery life.

of all the ROMs i've tried so far, liquid thunderbread 2.6 is easily my favorite. i prefer AOSP over sense due to better battery life and less bloat and this particular ROM runs smoother and faster than ony other ones that i've tried. also, this is the only ROM i can get a full day of 4G moderate/heavy use on the stock battery, while keeping it overclocked at 1.4GHz.

Yeah same here. I ran on a version of 3.0 for a while, now I am running CM7 but looking forward to the official 3.0 release, I like the liquid's settings better than CM settings personally.

Release is imminent. One final version coming for the public, I think all testing is done. Last night's version had Tiamat 1.1.4 kernel, not sure what the final will bring. I know he also likes Imo's 3.7.1 but we'll see. I'm as anxious as you guys, I'll post it as soon as I hear. Here's hoping the build goes well.

I'm surprised nothing has been said today about the release thus far

Yeah I was hoping to hear something today as well. The buzz is that he has been working on the final release today, remember he does his release for more than just the bolt, he releases his rom for the OG Droid, the DX, the D2, and the bolt, he has to get all of those ready for release before he puts them out.

Yeah 2 months between releases is crazy but it looks like he changed a bunch of stuff between 2.6 and 3.0

At least it works with Imo's 3.7.1, I was a little worried when I read Tiamat..

Shrunk a little bit too. 65mb!

The version before last had Imo 3.7.1 on it. Worked well for the day I had it but Tiamat always works much better for me. Try it with smartass v.2, slightly OC for a day or two if you have the chance.

Also I think he put the network fix in too. Have not had a single misfire for about a week now. Bye bye Rosa, AL. I hardly knew ye.

I am going to try it with jd's latest so I get call recording back. I sit on a bunch of rapidly moving conference calls and it helps a lot.

Edit: woah...way to many clockspeed slots to tweak individually now. Will take an hour. They are pretty aggressive already...I'll just drop down the min to 750 for good sleep drain and call it a day for now.

At 65 meg you can't go wrong with any kernel or clock speed. Granted 4g will suck the life out of anything, but other than that I have had some great batt life on every kernel I tried.

Lol. I had a freeze almost immediately. Back to good old imo.

App Manager is bad ass. I think I am going to dump Tibu. The interface is 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000x better, give or take a few orders of magnitude.

App Manager? Do you have a market link?

For all the shit that was said it's kind of funny to see some eating their words and diving head first back in

I'm sure I'll eventually try this, but after all the drama that went on I'm fine on CM7 for the time being.

Yeah, I know. Flash jitters got to me, lol. It is a nice ROM, got to tell ya. In the end this is just not a big enough deal to warrant some sort of stand on principle (edit: for me). I just hope we get any fixes if needed. If not, back to CM7 or something. They did publish source, etc. And I did not end up paying for what should be a free ROM, so I'll sleep OK tonight (although that could also be the benadryl, lol).

Don't blame ya, I thought about passing it up on principal alone.

I guess I just have loose morals with this stuff. It is just a phone after all.

I never said I wouldn't flash the final once it was released, I was just vocal that I didn't agree with how he was releasing it as basically a pay to get rom.

I'm really not going to disagree with any of you. However, take a look at the rootz thread and see how much work went into this. Look at the versions available, the hosting, the dev work and support, and the testing. ;-) How much do you think he made and how much do you think this is worth? Maybe a couple of hundred bucks? I don't begrudge him, but I will understand if you do. I'm not a judgmental person. (well sometimes, but not here)

But back on topic, you simply have to try this rom out for a few days, notwithstanding your open source beliefs. It is lightning quick with mods in the exact place you'd expect to find them. One click removal of system apps, all the latest market apps, and as I said before, 65meg. What is not to like?

You always had a problem with Tiamat, didn't you. And that works the best on my phone by far. Ahh.. htc quality control at it again.

Got to play around with app manager. Very interesting interface, but I'm just so familiar with Tib. Gonna be a fun weekend. I did a system/wipe from the last version last night and this morning a total factory reset wipe just to start out fresh. Both worked flawlessly. Hope you're enjoying this. You can't imagine how many times I wanted to send this to you guys, it was probably once a day at least. Sorry about that, I just had to abide by his wishes.
