Root liquid thunderbread

Holy mackerel! This thing flies. Kinda brings back memories :). I know quadrant scores don't mean a whole lot in real world usage, but I got my highest score on stock frequency,y 2400!
I miss a few things from sense, but I'm gonna run this for a few days and see.

Ok, call me crazy buuut, my 3g speeds are way down. I swapped back to bamf 3.0, speeds back up. Went back to liquids rom speeds down. Swapped to a new kernel, speeds still down.
 
Damn this ROM is sooooo smooth, sooooo fast!

Finally got it loaded and setup tonight and WOW. Haven't found a flaw yet.

Just flashed Imo's 3.5.1 kernel as well and if all goes as well as I expect during a full day of use, I don't see myself switching for a bit.
 
This was the smoothest Rom I've used to date. Unfortunately no matter what I tried, my signal/3g speeds declined. I had to go back to bamf 3.0. :(
My signal went from poor at home to nonexistent in areas I work.
 
That's kinda surprising, I was able to watch you tube on my lunch on high quality. This is on 3g in a basement in farm country mind you, for the first time since running a sense ROM.

That's really too bad for you.., this ROM has been nothing but wonderful for me..
 
its working pretty good for me as well,however now that i have my replacement phone i realize im having some data issues. had it disapear a couple times,and the normal tricks dont bring it back :mad: it does come back with a reboot,but im not a fan of that. airplane mode is ok,but im not going to reboot 2-3 times a day to get my data to come back.

anyone else having trouble with data and/or handoffs?

if it keeps up,ill go back to cm7 and see if i have it again there... guess i could be having prollems with the 627 radio :(
 
I think its the RIL, I never lose data for more than a second or two, but it does happen, and started with CM7. Seems a little better with the new radio, but hasn't completely gone away. Handoffs have been fine going from 3g to 4g and back. I don't really have a place to test the wifi to 4g so I can't comment on that unfortunately.

i cant say that i had an issue dropping data randomly. just a poor signal.:mad:
 
lol i have no prollem with wifi at all. it stays locked just fine.

if im trying to check my email or use the phandroid app or broswer,ill just all of a sudden get a connection error... ill look up and my 3g icon is MIA. it wasnt as big a deal a couple versions ago of cm7,when it would go airplane toggle always brought it right back. i absolutely hate rebooting my phone in order to get data to work. :mad:

3g hands off to 4g just fine,and to wifi. and wifi seems to hand off fine to it,but thats a common time its disapeared on both phones all days ive used it. after its been in wifi all night,after the 3g handoff when i leave for work.

Wifi was always rock solid for me as well, however the disappearing data is the issue I had/have. Never needed to toggle airplane mode except for maybe once than I can remember, but I'm going to chalk that up to a fluke. I had no bars and my signal was at -103dbm 1asu so I can't really blame the ROM or radio for that one..

Just once in a while when browsing or doing anything with data, I'd get an error to check my data connection. Look up, no signal, then it would come right back. Happened a lot more on the leaked MR2 radio. So far it's much improved on the official MR2, and Thunderbread seems a touch more stable than CM7 with keeping data. Still not 100%, but improved.

When you go 'battery use' and 'cell standby', on average what is it showing as your % without signal?

Keep in mind if you're on wifi it will skew that number lower than it would be if on 3g/4g.
 
hmm i thot i had typed a response to this on my phone... maybe i fell asleep before i hit submit,lol. anyway,on cm7 my time without siginal was always 0% or just a couple of %,tho the cell stand by times were usually pretty high.

ill check it on liquid today. last night i left it in 4g all night instead of wifi. see if that has anything to do with anything ;)

since i have rom ADD, im getting the itch to try somethin else anyway,so maybe tonight or tomoro ill try somethin else and see if it acts any different :p

Make sure to rename whichever radio you d/l to PG05IMG.zip and place it on the root (not in any folder) of your SD.

If you have adb setup it's easiest to flash the ROM, then "adb reboot bootloader" without the quotes to get into hboot and flash the radio. If you don't you can flash the ROM, reboot, then power off and hold volume down and power until you reach the white screen with skateboarding Andys. NOTE: if you do the latter when you reboot you will not have any cell service. That's normal so don't panic

You know its funny you mention that, I've posted from my phone only to follow up later and see that it never showed up.. weird.
 
im back on cm7 for now,but 2.3 is out :cool: it includes the new market. if anyone uses it,let me know if its stock or themed black :)
 
the way the new market is set up theming isn't going to matter nearly as much:
