Help Lock screen quirk?

Can we make bets that Sprint or Sammy will not fix this super simple problem this month... or before May 2012...

Good luck with that. I think there is no way they would push out a release to fix this minor bug during the next four weeks. After May, the symptoms will go away until next year.

Fixing the bug itself is probably easy. Pushing out a firmware release is a huge deal. So it's a no-brainer to wait for the next maintenance release.

Or just switch to the pattern lock screen.... Date is fine there.

Do you have to be rooted to apply this file? I'm a little surprised there's no instructions at all...honestly, it doesn't bug me that much, and like I said in my previous post, when it switches to June it will be fine.

Seeing as it is a Zip File AND on XDA Forums, I assume you have to be rooted in order to apply the update. Probably as easy as flashing the file in CWM, IF you are rooted.

The rep placed me on hold for a few minutes and told me this has been a problem and they are working on a way to fix the issue. She told me that it should be fixed within 24 hours.

"Mar. 04" fits, but "May. 04" doesn't because of character spacing.


Since "May" is the longest month, the occurrence of this bug will likely go away at the end of this month. Hopefully it will be fixed before May 2012.

Meh, I can handle this 1 month a year...besides, I usually get a new phone every 2 years. The Epic will be really old compared to whatever smartphones are on the market in 2 years, I'm sure.

Yay, it is June 1 and I can now see the month / day on my lock screen again.
