locked bootloader petition

Well, my signature is number 2522 on the list. Unfortunately I know better than to think Motorola gives a rats ass about us and our concerns. They will undoubtedly (if we're lucky) announce that they have recieved the gruable petition and are currently looking at ways to come to some sort of happy medium for those of us who want the bootloader unlocked.

Meanwhile at Moto head quarters, they turned the encription dial up from level 'Next to impossible', straight past level 'God himself couldn't unlock this one', to level 'the universe shall end before anyone gets past this lock!!!' and then ripped the knob off.

That's how they roll. :D
 
Note to Guides:
I've merged duplicate threads and moved this one thread to the Motorola forum as the petition is regarding multiple Motorola phones. To get more coverage can I suggest you update the individual sticky root guides and add a link to this thread.
 
This petition is still going. Only a bit more than 500 names gets it over 10K. :)
 
Number 9729. I'm a new member of this site because of this effort. Great work everyone. I don't develop, but I would like more control in customizing than I'm currently allowed.

A new petition has begun circulating throughout the ANDROID COMMUNITY.

Please see the PHANDROID NEWS article 1/4/12 & sign the on-line petition to MOTOROLA requesting that they allow the unlocking of all smartphones,as promised by MOTOROLA,to happen sometime in the 2nd half of 2011.
