Help Losing photos until I do a reboot

I have noticed, even before the upgrade, that sometimes photos or videos that I take will just disappear. I'll go to show someone and that photo isn't in the list of photos. It's not always the last photos I've taken, but usually it is. I have to do a reboot, and most of the time they re-appear, but it's a pain to do a reboot just to show someone a photo in your gallery.

Anyone else have this issue? Or know of a fix?

I just noticed this happen last night. I was in the NICU with my newborn daughter and snapped a few photos and came back to show my wife and they were gone. I plugged it into my comp to get the photos and they uploaded but still didn't show in the gallery. Wonder why this is happening.
 
Happens to me also from time to time. Fastest fix I know is using a app called SDrescan its by Benjamin Rosseaux. It just rescans the sd card real fast and then they show up. It's pretty fast , takes maybe 10 seconds and mine and i have about 4500 pictures on my phone. I believe it is a free app to , should find it in the android market.
 
Thanks for this info, I have been having the same problem, my wife was furious thinking I lost video of my youngest son crawling for the first time.

SDrescan is a staple app in my drawer. Works like a champ when u start moving stuff around in the system files or when a pic is missing from the gallery.

Bonus, its super tiny and quick.
