That's what is suppose to happen. The top option from the recovery screen is reboot....select that and it will get things going for you. Once it boots up just answer the questions and you'll be ready to go. Just give it a few minutes to boot up the first time.

Reboot in recovery---done--- drops me back into first screen showing ****Unlocked****

Fastboot -
Bootloader-

Didnt seem to take for some reason...suggestions?

Try a fresh download of the rom:)
Download it to your computer, boot into recovery, plug the phone in, look for an option in recovery to "mount usb-ms" and select it. That will mount your phone as a usb device so that you can transfer the rom from the computer to the sd card. After the transfer, unmount the phone, wipe and flash :)

OK, so I DL the wrong mikrom file. I DL the (update) not the full "full wipe version." I over thought the process and turned out to be way easier than I thought. Thanks for helping me through the process and now fully rooted. Would you suggest clock-work mod next and any other necessary apps.? :smokingsomb:

in the second post i have some more info for you to read.

apps to get:
setcpu great for over and underlcocking the kernel(you will need a cutsom kernel for this) which can increase perfomance and battery life.

titanium backup great for deleting(or freezing) apps as well as backing up and restoring apps and their data......very useful when flashing roms and want to pickup where you last saved on your game;)

root explorer great file manager that lets you explore the system partitions where the bloatware is.....or can be used to change the splash screen or boot animation.

these are the ones i use the most for apps at least.

I worked last night so I wasn't able to help out, but I'm glad you got everything gong.

ok, im running mikrom. Do boot animation zips give you the tools to theme out your device? are they specific themes that have to be flashed everytime you want to change your theme? I need a quick explanation of these boot animators.

I was running CM7 on my other EVO and it seemed that once you got "theme chooser you could just get different themes from the market and install...

The XDA link from previous members on on this site is kinda confusing...

it depends on the themes.....most themes are rom dependent. and boot animation is different then themes.

so when you first turn on the phone, you will get to the splash screen which is the htc screen. next comes the bootanimation which is usually the sprint logo animation. the splash screen and logos can be changed. some are in the form of PC36IMG files, while others are to be flashed, and a few have it so you will need a file manager to physically copy and paste the boot animation file directly on to the system partition.

if you need help with any of this, let us know what rom and theme with a link and we can help you theme your device.

Are Boot animation zips themes or something different? And if so, do I have to flash these files from my SD every time i want to change a theme?

And OK no CWM...thanks for the heads up

see my previous post about what a bootanimation is.......but basically no bootanimations are not themes....and it will depend on the bootanimation.

post a link and i can help you out with the one you are interested in.

I noticed your post after the fact, sorry bout that. To be honest, I really liked CM7 when i ran it on my last htc. I know roms are specific to themes and kernels(thanks to you fellas)...Is there a stable, newer version of CM with a gapps link that can be thought of? What recovery will work best with CM? Also, what else will i need to run CM--Cant remember and dont trust other sources!!

Good man, I must not have my eyes peeled apart enough. And a kernel that is specific to this ROM? do I still need a ASOP or will the kernel do??

all roms comes with kernels including reloaded. i think jamie only used the cm kernel....so if you want a custom kernel then yes you will need an aosp kernel.

Its asking for gapps post flash... good link for gapps by chance?? Guess i will rewipe and put on SD for my next flash...correct?

sorry yes you need to flash gapps as well just like most aosp roms:

just an fyi all of this is in the op of the rom.....you should always take the time to read everything in the post before flashng.....jamie even said it that you will need to flash gapps.

make it a practice to always read the op before doing anything.....i would even try and read the whole thread to check for issues or troubleshooting;)

good morning... I havent had the time to really go thru my htc after the root yet until today. Im running Decks and thought the gapps package that was given with the DL to Decks would include Maps etc. but did not. However, I did track down these files below just need to know if they will be compatible. Any guidance would help
