Root loving miui

After running cm7 for a bit I decided to test out miui. And see how I liked it. Gotta say, I'm loving it. Using the stock kernel, v6 supercharger, and setcpu ondemand 245/768 with screen off profile 245/245. Battery life is so good out the box with this rom I'm afraid to flash tiamat sbc back over it :p

Might put it on the girls phone with the iPhone theme since that's the phone she really wants. Anyone suggest any other good themes that are full English?

I am getting a bit of keyboard lag sometimes, not sure why yet but its not horrible.

Anyways, if you haven't tried this one yet I suggest doing so! Ill probably rub it til someone gets an ics rom released.

you know i have to try out this rom again at some point. i flashed this way back when i was still in love with sense roms. it was just to iphony for me. i know i can customize it anyway i want so that it does not look like an iphone so we will see. might flash this soon.

The only thing I miss is the app drawer, but the folders make it easy to get past that, I just stuck 90% of my apps into one folder and my games into another. It is iphonish in its layout, but the tons of themes make it bearable, as well as a lot of different lockscreen types I had never seen. Every bit of the UI is themeable.

Yes I know the feeling once you try it you are hooked.....imo the best iphone theme is made by iLstone, his latest creation the UI 7.0 4g is the closest you'll ever get to the iphone thing, actually it could be even better due to the customization options available.

I've had the keyboard lag forever with Miui even after every update. I just ended up switching to Smart Keyboard Pro, and I'm so glad I did! There is absolutely no lag whatsoever and it is also skinnable. Check it out if you ever get fed up with your stock keyboard. I believe they have a trial you can use so you can test it out first.

I use Go Keyboard. Its very good and Free. It has themes and it makes the stock keyboard look horrible. MIUI is a very good and stable ROM. No 4G support but thats ok I don't have 4G anyways.

x 2........

I might try out miui again soon. I haven't been on one in months, sure thing are completely different now. We'll see.

I'm still running it and still happy. I flashed the HTC keyboard from the evo toolkit and got rid of the lag completely. I did find out that miui likes the stock kernel better than tiamat sbc. Might try out savage Zen soon.

Cool.......well I'm running SavageZen 2.2.1 BFS-HAVS+#9 and the Evo4g is running very fast and smooth without one single issue, even the battery life improved ! probably the SBC mod within the kernel helping there too.....I've been running Miui 'back since when'..............and in the last four rom updates nothing but SZ-Kernels, very happy with the results.

Does anyone know how to fix the HTC_ime_mod fc that pops up when the phone first boots? It is obviously from the keyboard I flashed from the miui evo toolkit. I always hit close and everything seems to be working fine, keyboard included.. not sure why I get this fc? Tried wiping cache and dalvic, as well as flashing the keyboard mod, still get that fc at boot.

I am battling the decision for or against for this very reason. Has anyone heard any news if/when 4g support is coming??

I really wouldn't hold your breath on 4G. The miui rom is closed-source from China that the devs just port over to our device. Since they don't have WiMax in China, there's no reason for them to include it. (This seems to be the consensus over at miui.us and in the xda thread)
