my epic has died on me 3 times while on a important phone call. its starts beeping low batt then dies. But the batt is charged. last time it did it i had about 80 or 90% of batt. my phone is rooted. Can you guys help me figure this out? im getting sick of this phone. think im going back to me evo

Are you sure your battery stats are showing correctly? Are you running a Rom and if so which one?

I'm going to go with the suggestion in the other thread. Odin back to stock. If it continues, get it exchanged as it definitely isn't right.

I tried finding a good thread to show me how to do that step by step but the download links were all dead ; for the files. Can you help me out ?

Instructions HERE under "Odin Stock Flashing"

Download DI07 (which is still an official release) HERE... Literally JUST put it up so it should work fine

thank you so much Im downloading files now. can you send me a good link on steps how to root for when sprint gives me another phone please. i had someone root for me but i cant afford $50 a pop to take my phone to him everytime

Yes IIRC, it should be a .tar file though and not a .zip file.

Headed out for the night though so if you don't feel comfortable it might be best to wait until someone is around to help. :)

right on brother! im unrooted and trying to get the phone to give me the dead batt error. no dice so far. i noticed the error after i installed overlclock widget. so i deleted it but the phone still gave me dead batt error during calls. maybe overclock widget changed phone settings then i deleted it and changes to phone remained? idk ima try to root it myself. the phone did give me a overheat icon right now ,again. and it was just warm not hot like ive felt it before with out the overheat icon. im taking it back to sprint tomorrow.

i asked the guy what method he used to root my phone so i cant look up any known issues right. he told me rage against the cage. forked children. is this a joke? lol if not is the once click method a better method or what? thank you so so much.

im a semi noob. but shouldnt i use the latest method? that one is dated in august. also it says for froyo, my epic is eclair, does that matter?

yes the one listed above has a lot of complaints and there is a post saying there is missing info in the steps. is there a more reliable tutorial for me? im having a hard time finding one that seems to work for other people. thx

Well, for what it's worth, the main post was updated on 12/7 so only the posts from 12/7 until today are truly accurate.

That is the easiest way to root it though.

thx ill give it a shot, another question when flashing custom roms do i use odin? and how do i avoid loosing wimax keys?

Nope, flashing ROMs would go through the Clockwork Recovery aka 3-finger death grip aka pushing and holding the lower volume key, camera button and power key from a full power down.

When you get it rooted again I'll walk you through everything :)

what exaclty does titanium backup? is there an app that will backup my apps and restore them in the order i had them shortcuted onto my homescreen?
