Root Lte

LTE will be a nice change from Wimax. I live in an area with good 4G service....if you're not inside. The building penetration of wimax is terrible.

Why did they go with Wimax? Was Wimax more mature at the time they decided to roll out a faster technology? Verizon wasn't more than a year behind with LTE which is clearly superior. And now Sprint is having to play catch up...

In fact, with regards to mobile devices (not the Clear service), there was about a half year between the EVO 4G release, and Verison's LTE date in December 2010.

I hope their "first to market" approach with Wimax helped them the way they planned...and now that they are playing catch-up, I hope that doesn't erase all the benefits they got from an early Wimax rollout.

My understanding is wimax was the first to offer 4G speeds. However wimax is buggy and not as secure as they initially hoped for. Getting wimax up to standards would cost an incredible amount of money. So the decission to go Lte was much cheaper also going with lte sprint could offer more phones.

Yeah sprint was trying to be FIRST at everything. Being first to 4G was a big marketing thing for them in the past. Now it is the whole now network thing.

And that angry bird commercial I cant stand

If LTE isn't going to be out for another year, I might upgrade to the 3vo just after new years. I'll have an upgrade around that time. We'll see.
I still just love this phone!

Your probably right. I just think itd be worth it to wait for quad core than hop on the 3vo

The awesome part of my situation is, I have an upgrade every year just after new years. ;)
Beauty of having multiple lines on one account. :D
If I wait until Q3 next year I might as well wait until just after new years for my next upgrade.
I'm still debating, and its a knock down drag out fight believe me!

I think i'll wait a bit give them time to get bugs and kinks worked out on both quad core and LTE. Besides LTE probably wont make it here where I live until 3099 anyways :D

I know the feeling. I'm moving my wife to Sprint and getting her an Evo 3D for Christmas this year, and it's killing me not to just hop on over myself, but i'm trying to be patient to see what's in store for next year. Q3 2012 is many moons from now LOL

You live in the boonies too? I'm wondering when/if LTE will make it to my area also. ATT just got 3G here earlier this year LOL Well, actually i believe VZW has LTE here, though i can't confirm that as I only know 1 person here who's mentioned it or even knows what 4G is. He said it wasn't worth the battery kill, but i'm not sure if he was in town or elsewhere when he used it. Hell, i'm just curious to see what the speeds are like first-hand, and if it'll help me when using tethering apps to get remote work done.
