BELIEVE IT or not, I did follow a prescribed step by step I just dont remember them it was a couple weeks ago
Without a doubt. I have every confidence in what you've done and tried to do.

You just got hung up on the rocks.

It's really easy to tell the difference between I forgot and I'm shucking and jiving.

I don't recall breakfast for crying out loud. :D

We're cool, pleasure to work this with you. :)

Well dang that was a long delay. Looks like we will have to pick this up down the trail a bit. Im still in my work clothes for crying out loud. 5:40am is when I get back on the hamster wheel so gotta hit the sack. Thanks for hangin with me! I saw the link I asked you for twenty minutes after I last looked and thought I saw a lengthy tech reply but dont know where it wentt. Sorry Ive got the asus laptop that double types all the time. Its the G71GX RX05 best buy model. I stuck a ssd in it and its a lot quicker boot up and shut down. Havent tried anything else to test that out tho. Thanks again talk soon!

Sprint wouldn't care - once their service makes a determination, that's the end of it.

AT&T could be the same way, but you never know.

So, unlike other versions, the AT&T RUUs (as well as the Euro ones we could try to fool) all require s-off.

Getting the bootloader markings changed - also requires s-off.

Latest TWRP, put in same folder as fastboot that you showed above.

http://techerrata.com/file/twrp2/m8/openrecovery-twrp-2.8.5.0-m8.img

EDIT - I see you have the 2.8.4 version - great - put that into the Android Fastboot folder.

When you first unlocked your bootloader, you got an unlock token file from HTC. Put that into your Android Fastboot folder.

If you don't have one, follow the procedure at http://HTCdev.com - then put it there from your email.

Put your phone into FASTBOOT USB mode as shown by the second picture in your first post. Open a command window to the fastboot folder.

If not sure how, in Windows Explorer, Program Files - shift+right click on Android Fastboot folder and choose to Open a command window here.

Then say:

fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin

If successful, your bootloader will be unlocked, so let's try to restore TWRP -

EDIT - see notes here -

fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.8.5.0-m8.img

EDIT - because 2.8.4 is just as good, if you moved that over, instead say -

fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.8.4.0-m8.img

If successful, it will say some bytes (give or take 16k or so) and then OKAY.

From there, on your phone, use the volume keys to go up/down, choose HBOOT, tap power to select, then choose Recovery, tap power to select.

If not successful, no big deal yet - power off phone, power on while holding volume down, see if TWRP is available.

Let's stop there and please say if that works.
. Got it. I'll try all this after work Thursday. Thank you!

We'll find it if it is there once we have TWRP running.

Quick question...the new m8 is ver 4.4.4 so should I sunshine s off now or do a nandroid backup then s off.? Reason I'd like to s off is to take advantage of the Harman Kardon feature with Revolution HD ver 34+

Who knows....maybe not having s off could've been the reason calls were going straight to voicemail. This time around, it'll get done right. Or I'm going off the grid indefinitely!!!

Either way.

Going directly to Sunshine, then installing TWRP, then nandroid backup, then install new rom is better. Fewer steps.

ARHD (Android Revolution HD) does not include the HK firmware, but they give a link to the dreaded firmware update thread to get it.

That's not the best way.

For the Lollipop ARHD, this is -

http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/development/mod-audio-hk-bs-aroma-switcher-4-1-0-t3035354

Install after ARHD.

Includes a number of HK library enhancements and bug fixes.

(And yes, that's me in the credits lol.)

If you ever want to try a KitKat rom, let me know and I'll link you to the KitKat HK installer.

Its fine now. Shoot now what? Its $579 to keep the new one. Now I'm faced with a decision. Do I keep the new one AND the old one?

Pretty amazing stuff these........So all I did was adb flash the unlock code, and it must have automatically flashed the HD 22.2! Although at one point I did select recovery because that option was available. I think twrp was still intact on the phone. Can you tell me what just happened? I wish I knew what just went down in a matter of seconds.....I feel so dumb. And thank you very much for your help! Obviously couldnt have done it without your guidance. More! More! More guidance please!!!!!!

i put in sim restarted it called it with skype.......nice recorded message lady comes on and says (my number) "is not available") Hmmmm back to the new one. Wonder what thats aabout.

Near as I can tell, the unlock allowed TWRP to recover the partition data that were last known to be good. It is after all called recovery.

No idea about Skype.

Does everything else work?

They may have black listed the device as dead, not sure. If so, it won't make or take calls.

Sorry for the delay in response.....I joined the Oath Keepers at my first meeting tonight. Need to wake people up and protect our Constitutional rights! But back to the M8....I guess the next move will be to flash the closest to stock as possible, ROM. Whatever it's called. RUU? I think you're right the unlock code thing broke the fever!

Can we clear everything flashing related on it an restore it to stock?. I assume that.would mean wiping the cache and dalvik?. Then my new phone needs some work too.

Perhaps the method you described earlier to get the h/k goodies up and running. And a really nice ROM. That doesn't make incoming calls go straight to voicemail? Can ya help me with that? Thanks EarlyMon!!!!!

Can do on all the above compadre.

But honestly, I need to pick this up in the morning or tomorrow when I'm fresh.

I have the steps laid out, your downloads selected - but - one typo at this point on my part and could create a problem.

Fair enough? :)
