Help Maintenance update released.

ok so I updated, and I didn't see much of a real difference, except for the keyboard, but it all feels and look mainly the same. I wouldmn't worry to much about having problems updating if and when you do.

was the update pushed to you? Or did you manually check or manually install ? what area are you in ? .. sorry for all the questions .. thanks in advance !

Anybody know if this'll fix the issue I'm having with my awake time being the same as my up time? I'd really like my battery to make it through the damn day. =/

I didn't know you can netflix from the evo phone, can you?

No, not yet. But an app is supposedly coming soon.

My point is, I already pay for Netflix, so I'd be upset if Blockbuster isn't able to be uninstalled. (Since I won't use it)

I manually did it, went to my settings and clicked on the HTC update, then it downloaded, and installed, Im also in Southern California.

ahhh gotcha... can't wait for the netflix app though, that will be nice.

Should I uninstall the Kindle app before updating? I'm already hearing about, minor, problems after updating without uninstalling Swype beta.

I hope the extra software is uninstallable. I have no need for Blockbuster, Nova and Swype and only have 50MB of internal Free (Even with all my apps on SD than are able to move)

According to Engadget there is a firmware update available for the HTC EVO. It updates a lot of bloatware. In addition, it installs the Blockbuster and Swype app. Post how the update goes. Here is the article: EVO 4G gets new firmware update: lots of app refreshes -- Engadget Mobile

I'm guessing like any update Sprint/HTC roll out, there are going to be delays in certain parts. I'm sure it will be hitting devices sooner than later. Sprint/HTC are probably getting their servers up to par for a mass of people trying to get their phones updated.

To the mods, If I posted in the wrong location please move. Thanks

On a side note:
Please do not update if you are rooted or are going to root. Like the recent updates in the past, this may get rid of the root exploit.

I'm not seeing the update on my phone. Is it rolling out in phases or something?

Yes, this will be in phases... so as not to cripple their servers. Download link is also available on androidcentral.com
Also heard some users were experiencing some difficulties, so maybe you might want to wait for the official OTA

If this is a repost, I apologize. I did not know there was a thread on this already. I was merely trying to be informative. :D

I feel like this made my bad battery substantially worse. It also killed my Swype install, so I'm going to have to do a factory reset to get it all back. Hopefully the reset will take care of all of my battery issues, as well.

Thing was fine when I bought it two weeks ago, now it's just atrocious. Using 50% in under 2 hours. :(

I'm in St Louis, and I've yet to receive the current update, but a friend with an Evo, got the notice this morning?

I know they release updates a region at a time, but I've yet to get anything...

I've even gone to System Updates ---> HTC Software Update and it always says that I'm up to date, but it's not the current software?

I just got software update to 3.70.651.1 did it change kernel version? I don't know what it was before. I wounder if it's getting us ready for the gingerbread update?

I just got a tweet on my phone a hour ago that Evo owners are getting a software update but when I try updating its telling me I have the current update. Can anyone tell me when were supposed get this update? Does anyone have it yet?

At my store I heard a customer saying the same thing about it receiving one...but mine is saying it's got the current one also.

Updated killed your swype install? Are you referring to a version of swype you already had? Even if that did happen, the update comes with swype...so I'm a bit confused. But if it didn't download correctly, then that is another situation. Could u clarify, please? If it didn't load swype correctly then this could be something that should be observed.
