Great. More contradictory information surfaces. I don't recall another incident where information keeps changing. These things really undermine the investigation. When the final report is released, people aren't going to trust it and may expect it to be changed some time afterwards.
The Malaysian government...
Cheers. The glide ratio for a 747 is 17:1. Taking that as a conservative estimate for the 777, the glide range from FL350 could have been as much as 112 miles.
Cheers.
Would this completely rule out the debris field almost 700 miles to the south west of the new search area, or could ocean and wind currents still make this a possibility!
Thanx for that.Several prominent oceanographers familiar with those seas said that much drift was not reasonable, given the measured wind and sea currents in the areas in question, for the time involved.
Why would anyone read that version of the transcript out in this way, it most certainly wasn't read out in a normal news like voice!
Stranger things have happened I guess.
The ocean is not as wet as people think, claims Malaysian chief of police in another one of his outrageous chances to get on camera.
Yeah - like having a recording of the last transmission when the transcript was held in secret.
Basically impossible.
Unless you're a member of the media circus willing to sell anything for ratings.

CNN asks ocean experts - shocking new controversy on the "wet water" theory
I wish they'd muzzle that fool.

No I'm not or ever have been part of the as you put it the media circus, although that link might suggest you need to mod your own posts sometimes a little better, but thanx for that!Yeah - like having a recording of the last transmission when the transcript was held in secret.

That briefing makes it clear they might one minute say something is under investigation, and a few seconds later he blurts out what was believed the last transmission from MH370's Co-Pilotheld in secret
So nothing yet?
Search teams working, bureaucrats posturing, and the press speculating.
Nothing yet.

The media circus is them - not us. Not you.
It's a very common term, now you're familiar with it too.
I'm sorry that you took that personally.
"CNN investigates water" is a common meme going around making fun of their experts and their reports.
At the time I posted that, the top stories were about the Malaysian police chief, in the news again, saying that they cleared everyone on the plane but it was probably hijackers anyway.
I'm not interested in ratings, it was just a joke.
I happen to be frustrated with the situation and the reporting.
I blew off steam. Sorry if that offended you.
PS - we still only know what the Malaysians have said is on the transcript.
Just like more information, just like more startling news, just like this and a hundred other threads. We're coming to assume they're dead and we may never know why.... God bless 'em.The ping should be dying out soon?
It's there any legitimate reason for them to refuse to release the recording of the communication between the tower and cockpit?
It's there any legitimate reason for them to refuse to release the recording of the communication between the tower and cockpit? They released a transcript, why not the recording if they're not hiding something?
I actually have myself convinced that once upon a time, no one in their right mind would run a story that said - "The following is an English translation of a Chinese translation of an English-language conversation between Malaysians. No representation is made that this transcript is correct. Please note that it's from an untrusted source, not Malaysia."
But translating English to Chinese, and then translating back into English again. Especially if you wish to convey the exact message, meaning and/or context of something.
