Root Matrix Kernel - Version 1.1

cifs is enabled? try cifs manager, its kind of a pain to set up but worth it on the end. if you want easy get es file manager but it wony allow access through any other apps
 
Yeah I haven't found any software that will work either.... I guess I have to do it in busybox - totally acceptable I have run this phone for a month without having to reboot... my previous phones reboot when they felt like it or after 2-3 days got the point where you just had to pull the battery. :D

Guess I need to check my VPN conf on my 'server' now.

Yes, but I know of two devices it did not run on. I've tracked it down to one of two possible issues.

1) some phones don't like gpu/CPU oc

2) user error.

More input would be helpful since it runs like a top on my phone.

Remember to wipe cache and dalvik cache, or you will have issues
 
Noob alert! Haha. What are the differences between noop, deadline, cfq and iso? Could any one tell me the reasons to use either one of these? Right now im running 384-1.67 lionheart noop. Only reason im running this cause i read in a post thats what jimsmith runs and i figured since he built the kernel it would be best to follow his lead.
 
Running 384-1.512, ondemand2 and deadline with matrix kernal

If you do a google search for android io schedulers you will find a link to xda forum that will explain in detail what each does.
 
What is the possibility of getting loop device support added to the kernel? I would love to be able to mount and boot a real version of Linux on the phone, but we need loop device support to be able to correctly mount and boot the image. Would love to get backtrack Linux going on this thing.

That's a great idea. To be honest I'm not sure what I would need to do to make it work, but I'll look into it
 
I just installed matrix 1.1 and its working just fine for me. I was happy to see the added governors but I was surprised to see the lack of io schedulers. I was hoping to try out the row scheduler. Any chance that it will be added?
 
well... it wouldnt make much of a difference. itd still be a zte kernel... :p lol. all i want is to figure out how to build the wifi module along side it
 
Fiops doesn't. I'm not sure what else didn't but you can check that out if you go a few pages back. I know performance wise the newer kernels are a lot better.
 
Has anyone been able to get wifi tethering to work? I tried a few apps, but no luck.

On ICS? Yes, but you have to be rooted. Wi-Fi tether for rooted users and set to generic ICS/jb and netd-ndc (master) and reboot phone.
 
Can you hold my hand on that a bit more? I'm not following, are you using a specific app or talking about settings I have not seen?

Wi-Fi tether for root users I think it's called is an app, if I recall correctly it's a third party app so you won't find it in the play store, you'll have to Google it and download and install the apk.
