Root Max Overclocking

Was wondering what you guys were able to overclock your evos to. Mine seems to freeze up and reboot if i overclock it past 113600 :( Ive been told this is just what my evo can handle I guess...

I have mine at 1152, works fine, my wife 1st evo couldn't past 1.3 without it freezing. so yeah it is the phone, her new evo don't freeze now

122880 works fine.
126720 sends phone into boot loop.

I don't mess with the CPU speeds any more. No one cares about my quadrant score. Heck, I don't care about my quadrant score.

I use Fresh 3.3.0.1 w/ Netarchy 4.1.9. cfs F/C.
I use SetCPU w/ profiles ENABLED. Yes, I know; it's not supposed to work but trust me, my phone does like the combo.

i assuming this whole overclocking thing is probably pretty overrated....after my cm6 install and using it for at least a day, my phone feels way smooth.

From everything I've read on here, different phones seem to handle different OC speeds better. Find the highest stable level for your device and stick there.

Quadrant scores are more for "who's bigger" bragging rights than for any real impact on day to day usage.

How is you guys battery life when overclocking? I was thinking about flashing a kernal to overclock, but I dont want to give up my great battery life in the process.

What profiles you using? I have the same rom/kernal combo.. Thanks

I think I uploaded the screen shot. The one profile not showing is the battery temp fail safe @100% priority 40

quick question...when your evo is in a boot loop...how do you get it to stop xD
decided to see how much my phone could handle after seeing this thread and I now regret it.

If you don't have the main control "Set on boot," when the phone cycles through the boot-up, as soon as you can scroll to the SetCPU app, do so, and drag the slide back down to a slower speed.

Ya it wasn't letting me get past my homescreen :/
So I gave up trying and just restored a nandroid backup I had.

its definitely not overrated.....ive been rooted with all the cm roms and know others as well....there is an obvious difference in speed....in like week see how fast your phone is

1228 is running for lots of people (who previously had stability issues) who are using the newly found Ziggy kernel over on XDA. I'm running it now, set to 119 with ZERO issues (and I went to 1228 just to push the limit, no prob). I had reboots at anything over 115 with Kingx & Netarchy.

Ziggy's Kernel is The SHIT!
