Root metro flashed evo...no 3g :(

i have an evo flashed on metro. everything is working (data, mms, talk, sms) but i only get 1X signal, i know i live in a 3g area because i had an optimus m and i had 3g signal everywhere and a friend also has an evo on metro and he has 3g. i have looked up alot of stuff and changed all the settings on qpst and cdma workshop and i still only get 1X.

i was running mikeG 3.0 so i could do qpst but now im running MetroMod with tiatam kernel

anyone know anything to that could help?

ok what you are seeing is the true signal that you are getting. most custom roms now have this. what htc and sprint did was fool you into thinking that is what you were getting by always showing 3g regardless of what the signal is.

but im running on metro and metro has 1X and 3G so why doesnt this one show 3g at all?
i know i saw kelso's show 3g on his metro evo
 
If your not in a true 3G area all your going to see is 1X. Check their maps to make sure your supposed to be getting it first

try doing a speed test see what speeds your getting and if it tells you what your mobile network is, Rtt 1x or evdo?

another thing to check, I am not sure if the evo on metro has the information but in a hidden menu you can change its network one setting is to use what the prl gives you automatically, another setting forces it to use 1x regardless and one forces it to use/lookfor only evdo.

I get about 150 Kbps downloand and 180 kbps upload.
I tried put it on evdo only (or digital on evo) and I didn't get signal.
 
my optimus m still has 3g so its not the towers, I'm guessing I'm the only one with this problem. I'm going to mess with the settings on qpst awhile more see if I get any results because even the capped 3g was faster than 1X
 
This is a problem alot of people are having. That we have been trying to solve since october. It seems that only certain markets are allowing flashed phones to actually connect to evdo. I have tried on multiple evos evo 3d and now moto druids and no luck. Im in detroit market. It seems Florida is the best for 3g. California and atlanta some users get it too. Texas and Michigan no good so far.

that explains alot :(
i hope they change it soon, would be nice to have speeds like kelso does
 
I flashed mine about a week ago...everything was working and i was picking up 3g. now, all of a sudden, i'm stuck on 1x, and not picking up 3g at all. i'm in orlando, fl. any suggestions? i have no idea what to do with it.
