cannot get ports to show up on my computer so i can force prl. Phone was fully flashed by a metro dealer they put cm7 on the phone. I have tried the guide/tutorials on many forums but no luck getting the ports to show up. If anyone could help me with this issue please let me know thanks in advance. Is there any other way to get the phone in ##DIAG now that its running cm7 I have tried to get the ports to show up by mounting in recovery, bootloader, ect ect but they wont show

try making a nandroid of your current setup, wiping the crap outta the cache and dalvik, installing a sense based rom, use the msl reader to get the code and install the prl on the sense rom, wipe the crap outta the caches again, then restore your cm7 build

i wish i could thank more than once, you were the only one to explain in simple terms. Im new to the phone so was just nervous i guess but it worked perfect i still had data and mms once i switched to sense. Was able to write the prl to the phone and restore backup. Im good to go now. And i know i can flash without messing up anything. Thanks

we also have a thread going for metro flashed evos. it has tons of info and links and what roms work great. there is even a file that you could flash to get your data and sms working. here it is:http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/345848-metro-flashed-evo-info-here.html

I know i was kinda jumping back and forth. probably double posted too.. Sorry. Itt was just alot to take in with this new phone. I go from having a device that had on basically one rom for 2.1 one for 2.2 and one for 2.3. So switching to the evo and seeing so much stuff in one spot was kind of overwhelming. Especially with there being ten different link to different threads that tell you to flash a diffrent way. Really this device is just as easy as my old one to work with like i said it was just alot to take in at first. Well everything is good now i have already tried three different roms. But am back to the original cm7 metro edition that the local metro store put on it. I did keep the new kernel i flashed though(much better battery life) tiamat 4.0.5. Thanks for the help hopefully i dont get in a pickle sometime down the road though.
