Metro pcs BYOD

New Optimus what you said equals higher than fuzzy 200kb/s is 1.6mbps

But the theoretical max for EDGE is like 250kbps

Now at work I'll only get like 80kbps inside this giant steel building. At home inside is where the edge speeds are a little faster and where I can get around a mb. Luckily though I'm in great coverage areas so edge only comes and goes every now and then.

Edge speeds will probably be limited to under 200kb/s some places under 100kb/s

My experience testing out a phone with a $30 t-mobile 5 gig plan was that the throttled speed is a lot slower than 1x. Barely usable. If they let you disable 4g and just used plain edge without throttling that might very well be an improvement.

Think this might be my next phone assuming it has LTE and price it the same as the Find 5.

Of course once you start the waiting game it never stops. After all by the time it's ready to ship shouldn't I wait for the Nexus 5? And after that should I wait for the SG 5? Then the Nexus 6? And then the MetroPCS police come to my door and start screaming at me to just pick something so they can turn the CDMA lights off. :D

Well this blows.

It's been a week now and we still basically don't know Jack about how BYOD is working out. Only One person has posted about having done it and he won't even reply to whether he got his issues worked out. (Man that gripes my ass when people do that!)

No mention over on Faceplant from A Soul having done it.

And *I* beat Metro's drum for them better than They do so we haven't heard a damn word from them about it.

Here we be, all dressed up, no where to go.

Well if it was here I would reply back to you Bruce :D

Looks like tmobs lte has been expanded in my urrea so I'm gonna grab me a sim, setup my elite continuum transfunctioner N4 and see what happens.

Maybe metro will get their ish together though. I'd like to test it out when and if it becomes available.

Just got a text message from them about it. I'm in Dallas and I bought the metropcs s3 not to long ago so I can't really buy another phone atm.

2/2 people I've seen have complaints

Dell Streak 5. I'm using the APN customer service corrected and still having issues. The original APN that installed itself when putting in the similar card jumped all over from E to 3G to HSPA. The new one is doing the same thing. By the way, Metro says HSPA is 4G so to be unlimited you need the $60 plan
Anyone here an employee I need help with my BYOD SIM. APN's or something is messed up. Switched from ATT yesterday. Ported number and data still not right. E to 3G to HSPA to lost carrier all within 60 seconds. I'm on $60 plan with ATT Dell Streak 5

Theyre having problems with data

Well, they're obviously dorking around with the tawrs here.

We were doing pretty good with consistent 2.5-5 speeds but for the last two days it's been 1.5-3 again with noticeably slower page loads. I first thought it was the new 10.0 Dolphin but it's loading the same way on Chrome too. :o

Makes me even More Sure of my idea of not doing a damn thing til the transition dust settles.

When I talked to a rep when this initially started, they said the limited markets were for "testing" and that's why it wasn't rolled out nationwide.

If they don't get it straightened out I wouldn't be surprised if it takes a while longer for other cities to roll out.

Really surprised more testers haven't chimed in.

surprisingly, i have also seen speeds decrease here in Miami...i have been reduced to EV and 1x speeds and im on the $55 unlimited plan... what the hell is going on around here

I just got a n4 for 280 I'm sure that's a good phone and once byod comes to Sacramento I'm going to take it to metro but I have to wait :-(

Just got offered $300. I don't know if I could get a good phone for that much that will work.
oh you can, Just depend on what you think is good combine it with like half a paycheck or something pick ip a note two

as for the bring your own device issues maybe it just has been working, and what is the post count on people who had issue maybe they came here to try to get it fixed. maybe the majority of people getting the byod are super casual users, and we can use a n4zty or a shabby on this for us

If I knew someone in any of the test markets that could get me a metro sim I would have them send it to me, I can test it on my nexus 4 and I plan on picking up a OFFICIALLY supported LTE phone, Which I can test with my tmo plan and then test with metro.

I am fairly certain apn settings can be tinkered with to make it work even in florida markets instead of boston dallas or vegas.

Give me a few days I'll send you a metro SIM to test out ;-)
