i was going to get a new Ps3 since my old one broke and never got to getting a new one, then i had patience because i had a feeling that new consoles would be announce this year so i wanted to wait for E3, next thing you know 2 weeks after i told myself that Sony made the February Conference announcement. ;)

broooooo  the thing that its hard too is what games to get! :D

i like shooting games like FPS, its between BF4 and COD, then i want Fifa and Watch Dogs.....maannn thats like 180 on games alone! haha lucky me my Bday is on september, i'll be telling everyone to give me money even if its 5 dollars give me moneyyyy haha
---
idk if you guys knew but the Xperia Z was announce as coming exclusively to Tmobile, i was checking the Tmobile site and they have it there but price is unknown, im thinking $560. I really like this phone.

Tmobile Sony Xperia Z
Y guess i jumped the gun when I said gaming doesn;t interest me watch dogs last of us and the new gta caught my eye something fierce

the xperia z was an amazing device that looked great on paper. then it came out :/

the screen from my understanding is decent to look straight at, but tilt it just a few degrees and it turns awful

ah ha! found a good image comparing teh z's screen. mind you the status bar is supposed to be black.

you can say you wont tilt it at all but if teh screen changes so much at such a small angle what other issues does it have?

here is a pic comparing the then current flagships

thats.....horrible

the S3 wow

I'd love to see a outdoors during full daylight comparison also on these phones. I'd be much more likely to use my phone outside than I would use my phone at these viewing angles.

I'm running a byod sim and its a nightmare. I have a Dell Streak 5 from ATT. Its just amazing how bad it is, and customer service has been of no help. My data is everywhere and it keeps kicking me off the network. I miss half my calls. Its just crazy having paid $60 for this. I'm in Dallas. It should be a constant HSPA with at least descent speeds. I'd get my money back if I could, but the byod plans don't guarantee data. And since I can get some calls and make some they say service is being provided. I'm headed back to straight talk at the end of this paid month. Service ticket is in since Thursday and still nothing in reply.

Wow. I'd be calling every day until I got credited for that month. Bruce should have good tips for that. Lol

Hopefully it will get better but aren't companies suppose to test this stuff before they roll it out? Granted its a limited city release but it's still a nationwide thing.

thanks for the input,
just wondering if this is due to
-the phone you're using
-if BYOD is just not as good in your market
-poor/incorrect setup(as you stated on HoFO)
or if BYOD just flat out sucks at this point...
hmmm, where's all the leaks and the metro Employees to chime in..
guess ill have to consider connecting my S4 elsewhere

I agree with many of these points, This is what I am curious about metro is going with a known network, however in dallas lte, and many cities really, LTE is being setup and so they are working on the towers and signals could be all over the place even for tmo customers.

What we need is someone that can work through the issues and find the problems and fix/report them.

Yikes. Sounds nightmarish to me too.

Honestly from what I've seen, Metro makes it hard for you to really Go To War with them with their Terms of Service (they probably aren't alone there). It seemed to me their ToS are loaded with we Mays and Cans. Also that day to day "policies" aren't nearly as strict as the ToS indicate they should be. I don't think you'd get as far with them fighting them on the ToS area than you would just being a somewhat polite but firm squeaky wheel on their Faceplant page until it was resolved.

(I am not a lawyer but yeah, I would hammer there asses on that (above) BYOD we don't guarantee data or phone calls crap. There certainly IS an implied contract of I pay you, and you provide me data and calls. If you don't provide the service I'm paying for you are in violation of the implied contract. Period. That certainly sounds like free service until it's fixed to me and they DO have a precedent of doing just that.)

And yes, it's disturbing that so far as I've heard Metro is OhCrap! for 2 in the BYOD satisfaction department...

How would any of this apply if the phone isn't on the compatibility list

Wow that isn't good, it sucks Bear3825 has had such bad service with BYOD. Hope you can resolve those issues.

But weren't there some concerns about ATT phones working correctly on MetroPCS or T-mobile networks? I don't understand all the connections involved, but I thought that ATT phones weren't exactly compatible with every T-Mobile network..... Honestly, don't know if that is correct or not, but I never considered an ATT phone because I was reading that it wouldn't run as well on MetroPCS as a T-Mobile phone. Although MetroPCS tells people to bring in their ATT phones in their BYOD program.

How would any of this apply if the phone isn't on the compatibility list

Then why would Metro sign someone up for and set that same *incompatible* phone UP on BYOD?

For Metro to REALLY cover their butts, IF this issue is with ATnSleeze phones, then they Should Be telling Those prospective BYOD customers UP FRONT they May Not have all services. I AM NOT getting the impression they are doing that.

Well if they set up the phone and add the APN and everything what else can they do not like they've tested every device that's why they have these

Will MetroPCS provide support for troubleshooting my non-MetroPCS handset?
MetroPCS cannot and does not guarantee the functionality or performance of any phones or devices that were not sold by MetroPCS or an authorized dealer of MetroPCS for use on the MetroPCS GSM network. Nor do we guarantee the functionality of any devices that do not have a software version by MetroPCS.

Does MetroPCS provide talk, text and data for non-MetroPCS devices?
Yes, MetroPCS provides talk, text and data for some Non-MetroPCS Devices, including the iPhone. However, device troubleshooting that is not related to the MetroPCS network is not provided for such Non-MetroPCS Devices. MetroPCS does not provide troubleshooting on Non-MetroPCS Devices for any issues not related to the MetroPCS network. MetroPCS does not assume any liability for the lack of effectiveness for non-MetroPCS devices. We strongly recommend that our customers contact the manufacturers of their Non-MetroPCS Devices with any questions or problems regarding the functionality, operation, or performance of their Non-MetroPCS Devices.

That's exactly the usual ToS BS I was referring to earlier.

Legally, that probably says, You pay us and we don't have to be sure your BYOD does ANYTHING for that money.

REALLY???

Either you are capable of making BYOD devices work on your network or you aren't. If you are technically incapable of doing that you shouldn't have the service.

People don't and won't pay 40-60 per month for well, maybe you'll have service, maybe you won't. PAY US and then you can find out. (That is unless Hitlery Cliton tells you that with a gun held to your head but that's different. :p )

[EDIT] Furthermore, since I don't recall seeing that disclaimer before is that BURIED in their ToS mouseprint or is EVERY BYOD customer being appraised of that Up Front before they pay their money? It doesn't appear they are being told that BEFORE the sign up just AFTER when there are problems. THAT'S the kind of crap that's going to boomerang back on Metro.

Every carrier has a ToS like that, they can guarantee service on phones that they didnt test themselves the compatible list are probably the ones they have tested and since most are tmobile phones that's the ones they're trying to steer towards for full compatibility.

In the Frequently Asked Questions. Might be below the poster not sure since I havent seen one but I'm pretty sure there's a link that directs you to the compatible phones page.

I know the dell streak has phone functionality, But is it really a phone, on gsmareana its a tablet with phone and mms support. Metro said they don't do tablets I think.

Well then there's that too but once a phone isn't on the compatibility page I wouldn't get my hopes up on it working without some modifications that they wouldn't do at metro but there are some not on there that should surely work.

Ok, this finally seeped down through my brainal gook... :D

His Dell isn't even ON the approved for BYOD list. So AGAIN, what the hell is he even doing with a Sim card IN IT hooked up to the Metro network?

THAT'S EXACTLY WHY the phones are Supposed to be being brought INTO the stores to be set up on BYOD.

Here's MY Bottom Line. If a device is on the BYOD list, and I'm paying the same rate as any other Metro customer, I should get that same service. If my phone won't allow that, it SHOULDN'T be ON the BYOD list.
