Root [MetroPCS] [ROM] KitKat 4.4.2 NEW BETA 4

Yes you can do that but some of them may not work if they are not the odex version

I would download the big dump file, not the alpha

so that you can get the version of the files that are odex,

then copy the .apk and the .odex file into the same

folder of the new zip and then flash it

applications are either in app or priv-app

Thanks for the help. Using your instructions I've managed to make a flashable zip that has many of the stock apps like browser, task manager, messaging, lg home, stock camera, and others. Also added titanium backup, and SD fix for kitkat to be installed as user apps on first boot and changed the bootup and shutdown animations. I was wondering if once you finish with the final version if I could post a version with the stock apps I added back or hand it over to you to post yourself. I'm not looking to take credit for your work, I just think there might be others who might enjoy it.

All the credit still goes to you cause I wouldn't even know how to include these apps if it wasn't for your instructions.

It happens with more than that. It's happening with android forum app and Google play store. I have to reboot. My link2sd+ also stops working. Weird.

Anyone test default LG camera app? Google Camera is really lacking. Something as common as panorama isn't even an option.

I did, but the pictures are coming out blurry. And some of the features like Live Effect just make the camera crash.

Did a comparison between the two. Stick with Google Camera, trust me.

Your pictures may have been coming out blurry with the stock lg camera because of the default resolution. When you first open the stock lg camera, the resolution is set to 3mp 16/9 but the Google camera is set to 5mp 4/3 by default. If you change the LG camera resolution to 5mp 4/3 it looks just as clear as Google camera.
Also, if you change the resolution in Google camera to 3mp 16/9 it will look blurry just like the default resolution in lg camera.
Also, the only option in lg camera that causes the camera to stop is live effect for recording video(which Google camera doesn't have anyway). I have tested all other effects and every option in the settings and everything else works perfectly.
Overall the LG camera has a better interface, provides more effects and options, and takes pictures of the same or better quality than Google camera. The only feature Google camera has that lg camera doesn't is lens blur which doesn't work very good anyways.
Lastly, since the stock camera is stored in the system partition of the phones memory, I don't believe that it takes up any internal storage space. Imho the stock lg camera is much better. I don't mind not being able to use live effect when Google camera doesn't have it anyway.
[edit] I uninstalled stock lg camera then checked my internal storage space, then restored it and checked my storage space again and I had 628mb available both times.

Actual camera app may be in /apps-priv. Someone mentioned a file with removed apk? Can someone post that? I don't feel like downloading 700MB file just to mess with some apps. L

[edit] try just installing cameraapp3b.apk first and if you have any issues(other than the live effect feature in camcorder) install cameratestapp.apk in the same folder(system/app)

All I can tell you is to give the stock camera a try and see what you think of it. If you don't like it you can just uninstall it.

Google camera is lacking on features but CM stock camera is decent, only issue being it doesn't take 5MP pictures.

The link I posted is for the original lg camera app from this rom. In order to get it I had to extract it from the system dump in the op. It has lots of features that the Google camera lacks and takes full 5mp pictures.
BTW it has working panorama. I think that's something you were asking about

Panorama alone is worth it.

Besides, nothing can prevent one from having several camera apps.

there are couple of issues.

Isis does not work.

Wifi tether router only works w/another app and only when using "open" network.

but overall this ROM/port is great.

No. The ROM works perfectly, there really is no need to keep updating, if you ask me. I use this a daily driver and everything works PERFECTLY, and I actually haven't encountered any bugs at all.

I have encountered two small issues and one bigger one. Sometimes the browser crashes when I press the menu button, and the gallery always crashes when I try to edit pictures. The bigger problem is that the WiFi Hotspot won't work with the native tethering app or foxfi. My only way to Tether is to USB Tether with foxfi on phone and pdanet on laptop which means that I can't connect to the Internet on any of my other devices.

[edit] Can you check and see if you have these issues too? It's easy for bugs to go unnoticed if you aren't actively looking for them
