Root [MetroPCS & T-Mobile] [ROM] [F3] Xperion ROM *Updated 2/13/2015*

Hey GT, would it be possible to add back in the share option of "copy to clipboard" that was in the stock rom? I kinda miss that.

Here is a screenshot of my current layout.

I don't know what app that is, but you can add it to your phone yourself under /system/app and set permissions to "644" in the file manager that comes with the rom or "rw-r-r" in Root Explorer.

Boot into the recovery (from power off, hold down both volume buttons while pushing the power button) then select restore. If your backup doesn't restore properly, you can also re-flash the rom without wiping the data. Either route should solve the boot loop, but if not let us know. All is not lost, there are ways my friend.

Am not sure my phone can go into recovery mode that way caz i remember trying it wen i wanted to flash this xperion rom on it an wen i did dat it only factory resist my phone an i had to use a app name lte2/11m recovery touch to go into my recovery mode an flashed the rom on it an now wen i try to use that app to go back into my recovery it only reboot my phone

The factory reset you're referring to is part of the rom , GameTheory fixed that. You shouldn't have any problem with that at all. I've bootlooped my phone and had to do just this. I was expecting to have to restore my data from the backup, but when it did reboot I was pleasantly surprised to find my data was very much there!

And for the record, I have the T-Mobile version as well.

I wasn't familiar with the format, but a Google search turned up a discussion over at XDA about these files. Apparently they are the sound files for system events (like the camera shutter sound) and the system will fail to boot without them. I have absolutely no idea what app actually plays them, but based on their origin, I don't think that they would be that interesting to listen to. Then again, a glance at my mp3 collection would probably render my opinion of "interesting" suspect! ;)

I thought they were there just for the startup and shut down sounds. Those same files were in the stock rom as well.

Well, this is kind of related to the rom because I'm trying to find out how to get a boot animation sound to work. :)

Dig! Then the information about 16bit trackers is actually useful! I've done a bit of audio engineering, and I'm a musician. If you need assistance in getting it working, pm me.

Could it be that the boot and shutdown sounds were disabled in the rom? I've tried many combinations, like putting an mp3 in the /system/media folder, in the /data/local folder, and I even converted the mp3 to .ogg

What you need to do is convert the file to .emd format. There may be tools to allow you to use your own mp3/ogg files (possibly something like Android Tweaker or PMR) but I haven't looked any up. My family is going through a particularly rough time right now, the there's a good chance that I won't be around for about a week or so (although I always reply to pm's.) Please forgive me if I can't offer as much help as I normally would.

Sorry about your family situation :(

There are 2 .emd files in there already and I'm just wondering why they are not sounding.

I just wanted to thank Game Theory and PlayfulGod. After going through all of the steps, one by one, I have successfully flashed my "May as well be bricked phone". It runs wonderfully now, and the Freedom Kernal has made it work like a charm. It was originally a Boost Mobile phone, and I bricked it trying to CWM Recovery, like a noob without unlocking the bootloader, then turned it into a MetroPCS. Tried to fix my camera and all I did was set it back into bootloop. Did it like... 10 times... It was redicuklous. Now after doing this I kinda just felt ******** "Should have read and read and read some more." ...

Anyways, while I am sad that the Kernel couldn't revive my Rear Camera, I am plenty pleased that the rest of it seems to have improved in performance, and customizability. I am getting this little guy to understand Voice commands.

Thank you both!

I also have a metro phone

That's strange since I made this rom based on metro pcs firmware. 4G is working for everyone else even for those flashing on t-mobile phones. All I can suggest is to reflash the rom to see if that helps or restore your stock backup you made before flashing the rom.

Yeah I have t-mobile and I have LTE so I don't know why. Try reflashing, but try this first: settings -> tethering & networks -> mobile networks -> unselect "use 2G networks" or go to "network mode" and chose GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto. If that doesn't work then in the mobile networks page (settings -> tethering & networks -> mobile networks) go to "Access point names" press the menu button (three stacked lines next to the home button) choose "new apn" and you should come to a page with many things. Enter these things:
apn carrier="MetroPCS LTE
Quote:
mcc="310"
mnc="260"
extraid="6D"
apn="fast.metropcs.com"

password=""
authtype="0"
server=""
proxy=""
port=""
mmsc="http://metropcs.mmsmvno.com/mms/wapenc"
mmsproxy=""
mmsport=""
type="default,mms,supl"
preferapp=""

EDIT: WAIT!!!! What network are you using?

im on the $60 plan for metro pcs I did try reflashing the roms but the 2g stays but I have not tried the network stuff yet but I will try. but everything else works like call and text I can still get on the internet it's just really slow and it's only showing 2g instead of the regular 4g lte

Yeah make sure its not set to 2G only and if the stuff I posted doesn't work, then google "metro pcs apn" and try that.
