Root [MetroPCS & T-Mobile] [ROM] [F3] Xperion ROM *Updated 2/13/2015*

Yeah you don't have to unbrick for a bootloop. Even if it does ask to factory reset, you have to do it either way since you need to wipe dalvik cache. After that you can just restore from a backup and install Xperion rom again.

Control. Instead of your phone being what the carrier wants it to be, you can make it what you want. Also, you can use things like Link2SD so you aren't running out of space.

You can flash the Rom by itself, or if you like you can also flash the kernel. If you want both (and I do recommend it,) flash the Rom first, then the kernel.

Well I took the plunge and flashed the rom and the freedom kernel using flashify, after I made backups of course.

The kernel install screen froze after it said it was complete. Had to take the battery out to restart but it seemed to install okay.

Was a little nervous since I've never done this before but it's all working great so far. Thanks GameTheory!

The problem is that you used flashify. You were supposed to flash using either CWM recovery by PlayfulGod or the new method of TWRP recovery by xclusive36. But if it flashed okay with flashify then I guess it doesn't matter.

I have the TWRP recovery. Flashify asked which recovery I had and then rebooted into TWRP to install automatically. I thought flashify was performing the same actions as the TWRP install button except for not having to manually go into recovery.

One thing I can't seem to find in the rom that is listed on the first post is the AOSP lockscreen. I noticed the pattern lock looks different though, is this AOSP?

Thanks.

I'd stay away from flashify and just boot into recovery with an app and now since you installed the rom you can use the built in option in the settings. In Nova launcher I setup a swipe up gesture that takes me straight to the settings for quick access to the recovery option.

The aosp lockscreen is already enabled and the default. Should be obvious since it doesn't look like stock and behaves differently when in swipe mode.

Flashify should only be used for backing up kernels and recovery and for flashing TWRP. Its not very safe to flash freedom kernel or this rom with it. Its best just to use a recovery to flash everything.

Typically it's always better to flash from recovery, ESPECIALLY in the case of a Rom. I've seen handsets get bricked using apps similar to Flashify. While you may have been fortunate enough that nothing bad happened, it's always safer to follow the procedures listed in the installation instructions. Remember, developers have a great deal of experience (in general, and particularly compared to average users.) Just because something like Flashify seems easier, it isn't necessarily better.

I get excellent coverage, so it's honestly difficult to determine. This Rom shouldn't make any difference, however, as it doesn't flash the radios.

Must just be a coincidence then. Previously I could maybe get 2g and almost no bars at work. Now getting 4g with almost full bars.

Could have been before your settings were different before and now flashing this rom fixed it back to the default settings

Am I the only one getting some lag when I do a screen off? I know that there's supposed to be a CRT animation, but it doesn't work so it was taken off the list, but a CRT takes longer than a fade which is why there is this lag. GameTheory, if you could make a patch that gets rid of the CRT and changes it back to stock fade, it would be much appreciated since it would get rid of this lag.

I actually DO get the CRT animation, without undue lag. I do occasionally get a goofy power button lag, and have to use the home button to turn on the screen, but I believe that to be a hardware issue.

Same with me, I get the CRT a few times, but most of the time I get the lag since there's supposed to be a CRT, but it just goes black so it waits out the time for the CRT and then goes black. If we can just go back to the stock fade animation, then it should be fixed.

Hmmm, you're right. I guess I only get the CRT animation intermittently. I hadn't noticed until now. I don't really care one way or the other, but I can see how that would be irritating to some.

Yeah I'm going to try to find a way to change the CRT animation back to the stock fade cause it does bother me.

EDIT: Nevermind, no matter how much I search, the only result I get is the Xposed Module ScreenOffAnimation which does not always work the way it should for this phone.

If your looking to change the shutdown animation back to stock, make a copy of this rom and switch out the shutdown animation with the one in the stock rom and then reflash this rom with the replaced animation overtop of your current install. No need to wipe anything. Just make sure you make a backup first just incase you twerk something.
