Root [MetroPCS] Tethering for MPCS.F6....!!! All Roms **VIDEO for stock only** UPDATED 12-02-14

its a app in the market it works perfect but only way to tru is to use it its not gonna kill u u can always uninstall geesh

U would have to either change all permissions on system/bin/ dnsmasq....check wr.r.x (all) set UID,GID,sticky
Reboot
Run wifi.tether n do all guide process.
Do not configure wifi.tether.dnsmasq leave as is
N or do VPN guide

I can confirm on my Rooted MetroPCS F6 that this new app, SVTP Wifi Hotspot does NOT work. It "works" like all the other hotspot apps, ie will broadcast signal, computer will say connected, but nothing will happen. The only method I got to work was the OP's together with useragent spoofer. Not saying it can't be done, but i guess the whole point of this was an easier alternative to OP's method.

Running on Tmobile with no tethering plan, connected to Windows 7 PC.

It works for me. MetroPCS, no tethering plan, connected to Windows 7 x64, User Agent on the PC side.

metro pcs 60 dollar plan i tried to buy the wifi hotspot but its only availble to 40 and 50 dollar so i searched for days and found this app and it works fine no killing anything yea u have to use a user agent on a pc which is fine with me but i use it for my tablet when im on the road
lets me watch espn go tnt go so i can watch the nba playoff:) GO HEAT

What happen if you use your stock tether widget?
 
I'm happy it's working for some. It's just not working for me. Browser just keeps searching. Connection icon has exclamation point and says needs further attention. Curious if I'm the only one.
 
This only works for Metro PCS..hence in the Metro PCS section. In order for this to work on T Mobile, you will need to use VPN, like Hotspot Shield.
 
If you are off contract on T Mobile..I suggest switching over to Metro. It's $10 cheaper, which means you can get the same plan along with a paid streaming service like Netflix for cheaper.
 
When i try to run Android Wifi Tether on my rooted f6 it shows this message. Tethering started with errors! Please check 'Show log'. When I click on Show log there are three errors it gives me.
1:starting ad hoc mode failed
2:setting essid failed
3:setting channel failed
My question is will the method you show fix these errors, and will it work for xbox live?

Make sure your configuration is exactly like what it says in the first post

There is a new experimental version on google code. If you expand the description category, you can find at the bottom, a link to their google code page which has every version they have came out with. Ps: I already downloaded the new expiremental version on my f6 and it still didnt work but you are welcome to try it for yourself.
 
I am using TorGuard VPN services now. With the VPN activated, I did not need to do any other configuration or use an app to tether [stock tether is all I needed]. I still need a User Agent on the PC side though. :)
