Root MetroPCS Tiered 4G Plans

Wait i need clarifications. I DON'T have 4g in my area....yet i have the Esteem. If you ask why would i do that its because the ADMIRE SUCKS. Anyway. Is that going to effect me cause I DON'T use 4g? also everyone is so pumped on getting in a 2yr contract, Why? Ya pay 10-20 extra dollars and get a better phone and better service, I got that. But for me I'm not trying to get locked in again because I'm STILL paying VW from 2 years ago because i lost my job and they don't care about that or you i.e. (GoodFellas) "**** you, pay me". At least at metro they just turn off my phone till I'm able to pay again.

And they also let you use you're phones network to pay the bill online too.
 
Whew. Glad I'm content on my $40 plan.

3-4 months I've been on this plan and my data has move ONCE. lol
 
I got confused. Before I got the esteem I had the ascend on the $50 plan. I just got the esteem on the 19th of March and when I switched my service from the ascend to the esteem I told them that I wanted to stay on the plan I had on the ascend. So my question is if my plan would change to a different one or stay the same? Cause we only have two phones on metro. An ascend and the esteem.
 
If this is true im just going to verizon im with all of you guys... I think we should all call metropcs on a same day and complain so they dont do these its just so stupid... and if we are staying with the same plan that we have its still bull because you are not going to stay with the esteem forever you are going to have to switch phone in the near future and will have to get the new plans...

Each time I've changed my phone the plan has usually stayed the same.

If I were to get another 4G phone I wouldn't need a different plan because the one Im using was obviously working before.

So now that I know that, if it's true. I won't be AS PISSED because I don't plan on changing my plan anytime soon. And if I do it will prolly be to another carrier.

I'm staying with metro f &$ Verizon and all contracts lol

Not unless you're a new customer.. To us it may seem like a bad move. But they don't really think about the customers like that. It's just businesses to them and that is ask it really is :3 just thought about this
 
Yes that is business but they looked at it as themselves having a lot if leeway to raise prices and still be ahead price wise. They kept them low for reputation time but now it is money making time IMO

Just so everyone is clear. lol

The plan you are on now, you will be grandfathered into it. Metropcs will not force you up to the new plans.

The new plans will only take effect to those starting new accounts, or being removed from a family plan.

or if you decided you want one of the new plans. OTHERWISE. If you're happy with your plan now and you don't change the base plan, you will not be changed.

Again what that means (cause someone will ask) is, if you're on the $60 unlimited 4G LTE plan. Then you stay there. @ $60. Unlimited. grandfathered.

It was the 50$ plan that was unlimited. I used to pay the 60 bucks but iwent to the 50$ plan awhile ago and never felt like I was throttled or slowed down. With heavy usage
 
new prices are up, so far doesn't look like I've been effected. From what i see, I don't think to many people will be jumping over to metro's 4g anytime soon. I think this is a really bad move on their part. can anyone say netflix?
 
Yup, new plans are on the site.

Checked my account and my old plan is still in effect so I can confirm I've been grandfathered in on my 40 dollar plan. SIGH. Whew. I was worried there for a little bit.

Yeah I feel the same way, I don't see my self getting another phone anytime soon. So don't have to worry much, The only other person on my Account is my moms phone, She's in her late 50's and afraid of touchscreen phones, So i know she's not going to want to move up to 4g.
