Root MidnightRom: Jellybean [MOVED]

A little insight on the tapping while taking a video crash- I think it's due to the Nexus devices (at least the Nexus 4) supporting the ability to take pictures while recording a video, and I don't think that's possible on our phone.

So what's up with the capacitive button backlight still being on when the screen is off? Any fix for this? I'm going to try wiping everything and reflashing as a last resort but dak might want to look into this.

I think its a kernal issue but then again i'm a noob at this whole thing, any other kernals i can flash ???

Ok,
First of all, great rom. super light and the battery life with responsible use of the phone is very good. (meaning turning on airplane mode in the subway(i live in nyc), turning off sync when not needed etc...)
However, After trying this rom for a couple of days and moving up to the next update as soon as posted, i have identified a few bugs happening to me that i havent read here.

1- my gps wont connect or identify my position in google maps
2-google + wont connect to a hangout
3-when receiving or making a call the microphone will shutdown for some reason. i have to call back once or twice so ppl can hear me.
4-screen will shutdown for some reason and i have to do a battery pull to get out of this. (this havent happened to me with the 1.6 update)

If anyone has encountered any of these problems and has a fix please let us know ;)
Also btw, i did a full data wipe, cache, dalvik and formatted all partitions except sd-card.

Thanks and keep up the good work. will be posting more bugs if i find anymore.

Edit: i was using hboot 1.4. i updated to HBoot 1.50 and that took care of the bugs i mentioned above. i followed this instructions http://androidforums.com/evo-v-4g-all-things-root/678727-fix-everything-thread-virgin-mobile-htc-evo-v-4g-aka-3d.html

Edit 2: now im having the capacitive button backlight staying on when the screen is off. i just shut them down completely under kernel tuner for now till a fix arises.

It seems I've done something horribly wrong. I flashed correctly, but now I have literally no apps. I don't have the camera app, nor the play store or youtube. How can I get the Play Store back in order to get apps?

I seem to be having two problems. The first one is that there is no 4G sign on the status bar. Is there a way to make this appear? The second one is that, though everything is super smooth, gaming does not seem as smooth as it was on the stock rom. Is there a way I can fix this? And is there a way to get back some stock HTC applications? There are all gone and I don't know how to get back things like the gallery or the music player.

Which kernel is best for this ROM? I'm running the DIRT 3.0.51 but my battery life drains very quickly. Also, For some reason kernel tuner shows only one of my cores running. When I enable the second one it registers for a couple of seconds then goes offline again.

There is no 4g sign on AOKP rom and what are you oc'd to also whats your governor and about the stock apps you can download most of them on app store i dont know about the music one tho

I have recently installed the version from 1/22/13. I have been having a couple of issues with the ROM so far. When i was on a call the other day the phone turned off without the shutdown sequence during a phone call. Prior to that I had some garbled text on menus while the rest of the screen seemed fine. The text seemed more out of focus and completely unreadable. Later this seemed to spread to other parts of android then just the menus. I have switched back to a ICS based rom for now till your next JB release. I really do like this ROM. It just wasn't stable enough for me at this time. Good luck!

Since restoring my backup of this my vvm doesn't seem to work. I have tried flashing the Rom back over it and reflashing gapps. Any ideas other than wipe and clean reinstall?

I was over clocked to 1512 megahertz and the governed is set to on demand. Even when over clocked games feel slow and laggy.

i think you forgot to flash GAPPS after installing the Rom

Is anyone else having an issue with USB mass storage spazing out when enabled? It seems like more often than not it just soft reboots the phone and refuses to mount or takes forever to mount. Keep having to mount USB in recovery. What gives?

Hi all.

I've got a small bug to report: The search by camera function in the 'Google Now' app seems to be broken. Every attempt to engage said function results in a force close of the app.

I tried a lot of the suggestions in this thread for getting the best performance without killing the battery. Intellidemand and smartassV2 actually drained my battery pretty fast, even with CPU1 disabled, and I also noticed that WiFi drains faster than 3G which used to be opposite for me. I went back to regular old ondemand with a min of 192Mhz and a max of 1350Mhz, CPU2 disabled, WiFi off, Sync enabled, and my battery is finally happy again and I don't have any lag. I've mostly used SnapChat, Facebook, and my camera today, taking multiple pictures with the flash, but somehow Maps (completely unused... must be Google Now / Facebook with their location seeking) is the highest battery consuming app. Anyway, if you're struggling with battery on this rom, try the good old governors. ;)

You don't have to re flash the radios because they don't change unless you manually flash different ones
