Minor 32mb update rolling out for dinc2 to increase build to 4.08.605.3.

the DROID Incredible 2 has another minor update available for it as of, well, right now. The update is 32MB and improves email synchronization along with a couple of other data-related bugs. After you've received first notification of the system update you can manually initiate by going to "Home" > "Menu" > "Settings" > "Software Update" > "Check New". Press "Restart & install". Your device will power off and back on and the installation process will begin.

Maybe I will get this one!
Anyone got it yet?

Man, my phone had better show this update, or I will be really upset, because it never even showed the gingerbread update, now I am 3updates behind, and 2.3.4 is the latest Android version.

Grrrrr....:(
I even tried forcing the update using the dialer with the checkin method...and noting.

From your Android phone’s dialer simply enter *#*#checkin#*#*, substituting the letters for numbers, which would be *#*#2432546#*#*. This will put you in the queue, and you should see a notification saying, “Checkin succeeded”. Go into Settings>About Phone>System Update. If there’s an update waiting for you, it’ll pop up then, but don’t expect it to work every time. This won’t work if you’re using a custom ROM, so this is only for users who have not rooted their devices and are running on the stock ROM.

I got the triangle with the exclamation point in it in the notification bar then (checkin succeeded message) checked for a system update and nothing!!!

I'm sorry about your update problems. If it's any consolation, I don't really notice anything different. I thought gtalk with video came with 2.3.4 but it's not there.

Just did the software update check on mine through system settings and it showed the update as available. Let it do it and don't see a single thing different. Took about 10 minutes. Thought it might update my market, but still the old one which works fine for me.

The difference is it now has a yellow color in the open space in the bag, huh.
Everything is all square when you open it, right?
I can't understand that, I have been having that for almost 2 months now, and you just got it with this update!??

I don't think that is something a software update can fix. It will have to be a hardware fix, a new & improved battery door (with better antennas) seems to be the only answer to that problem.

I agree about the hardware issue, but I've noticed since the update the signal bars are showing more than they did. Before the update a -95dbm signal would have no bars. Now it's showing one to two bars. The dbm didn't increase, but the bars did. Anyone else notice this?

I thought that this update would have triggered me to be able to be able to get the first 119mb gingerbread update, then the smaller 4mb one, then this one.
I know I can't just get this one alone because they build on top of each other, I have to go in the proper order.
I tried some more this morning, used the checkin method too...& still nothing...

I have contacted Verizon about this and they just keep telling me to wait and I will get them... Really I just want the ability to use the front facing camera for video calls, like Skype...
Oh, well...rooting is not something I want to or can do...

XDA forum is confirming that this update will lock the HBOOT from Revolutionary. You will not be able to get root back at this time if you update.

there was a new radio with this update. i flashed the new radio and so far, at work i seem to be getting better reception. now in the 85-90 dbm range where i used to sit at 95-100. so at least for me, this release is defintiely fixing some of those reception issues. the real test though, will be at home where i usually sit, at best, at -100 dbm.

me too. Initial impression is that I like the old one better.

I had the new one on my first Inc2, then needed it replaced. When the replacement came and had the old market on it, I realized just how much better the new market is. I had the same initial reaction as you when I updated it, but now there is no going back.
