Root Miui Problem Sorted. Opefully!

I think there is a problem with the writer on my Linux machine. I have partitioned my new card with Rom Manager and Miui is/seems to be running nice. :):)

No FC's, been running 20 mins now. :D:D:D:D:D:D

will played
use vorkenel-xmas with it, ive tried all the others and i dont know why people recommend them

coutts is getting better as a kernel writer but hes got nothing on benee

I have Vorks Xmas HAVS at the moment as its what I was running with Cyanogen.

How do I get Clockwork recovery back, so that I can back up? I have a directory tree saved on back up, I know I can just paste that back to my SD but is there another way? Its a new SD card.

i dont understand what you mean

have you lost clockworkmod recovery?
how did you flash?

I have a new card. I also have recovery menu, (black screen green font). I do not have Clockwork recovery directory tree on the SD. I try and back up recovery tells me "no files found."

However it seems to have been quietly working while I was in the bath as its willing to back up for me now!

I have another question, but I forget easily.

i think there was specific circumstance that caused it
gonna test it again tonight with more battery left and see what happens

right ive sacked it off, went into garage to exercise and put some music on
124 is too low for stable music playback
also and a big one

DSP gain is lowered by almost 50%

ill say it and say it over, vorkernel havs bfs xmas wififix edition is the best kernel i have EVER used

Well I've never had any problem with the eViollet kernel with DeFroST, but it's been a while since I flashed anything and I don't really have time today to try the latest GingerVillain, so I'll give vork a spin - after all, that's a pretty strong recommendation :)

maybe you dont use your droid for audio
the audio is drastically reduced, its a kernel issue not rom as if i used any other kernal the volume is as normal.

again as im listening to music i have the screen off, i have a screen off profile with axi as 124 - 245. at first its fine, after about 5 mins the songs glitch when changing to a new song and then it starts lagging and stuttering (using power amp for audio).
124 is too low mhz for music, music needs 245 for smooth playback which imo makes this kernel pointless for people using music with screen lock as really 124 is the only reason to use it.
having 40-50% less music volume is not acceptable
I plug my device into the stereo in the garage, usually my stereo is at 4 for sufficient audio.
Today it was at 7.5 and even then it wasnt right

i helped coutts fix his kernel but it was still not as nice as vork and uses the same amount of batteries
Ive used many kernels recently, didnt like the earlier vorks as they became unstable but this one is a gem

Actually I'd always found the music output level acceptable, at any rate comparable to other ROMs/kernels I'd used. But that may not be surprising, as I've mainly been using RichardTrip's kernels, which the eViollet ones are based on. As for the clock speed, I sometimes use 128-245, more often 245-245, so while I've only once noticed a slight glitch and never any stuttering, it's hard to say for sure about the speed (I tend to listen to music heavily some weeks, not at all others). As the default DeFrost kernels have the AXI thing turned off it was worth trying the kernel for that anyway for me.

Anyway, I'm vorked-up now (once I spotted that there was an extra patch needed for WiFi to work!), and need to drive off to pick my son up soon, so will find out how different the output volume is then :)

Well, on a brief and unscientific test I'd say that music output was slightly louder (through car stereo, same track I was part way through earlier), but like 2 notches on the volume (from 15 to 13). Ringer volume will be the key test for me.

Anyway, so far it's all extremely smooth and responsive without overclock. Let's see how battery life goes now.

ringer volume is the same, its the internal headset volume

how do you have it connected to the car? via 3.5mm jack or bluetooth

'tis odd. I was using the 6.1SE, and not the slightly more recent 6.1.1, but there's no mention in the changelog of an audio mod between the two.
