Over two weeks now and this ROM is still my daily driver. I tried the new UD ROM and I could not live without the notification bar toggles gained with Miui.

so Im trying this rom again and I keep getting force closes on practically every google service, i download the most recent rom on the code.google

any tips? I want to use this rom but not being able to use my contacts and such is not good.

It's getting hard to keep up with all the latest versions of this, but those problems sound like they would be fixed by going into Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > All and clearing data for both Contacts Storage & Google Services Framework.

As of today this is your best bet version:
MIUI v3.999 Modded Edition (Includes Missing Apps) - Droid Forum - Verizon Droid & the Motorola Droid Forum

You can perform a clean install (data/cache wipe) and it is fully functional. In a couple days a newer version will probably be available.

Bummer. Loads just fine for me both as a fresh install and over lfy 1.71 without wiping. While I'm not prone to staying with any one rom for more than a week or two, this rom is unique from any other rom out there with several extremely cool features found in no other rom. Is that a record for the word rom in a single sentence. :)

I liked the ROM, but its too buggy to use. Will come back to it in a month to see progress.

It's in a weird flux state right now... it's not actually buggy at all if you install it the right way, but fixes and new versions are coming out so fast and furious right now that if you wait about a week there should be a solid version that you can do a fresh install with.

I def liked what this ROM has to offer, but like others, I'm waiting for some more stability out of this. I flash ROMs too often that all the bug updates and fixes wouldn't allow me to get the most out of it and would be unfair to review.

This ROM does have an amazing amount of potential, though.

this rom is great for the eye candy aspect, easily the best looking rom out there, but it just seemed stuttery and laggy on my phone weven with OC kernels. (sotck kernel did seem to be best though). hopefully in 1 month, or 2million updates (which ever comes first :) ) ill give this rom another shot, I want to love it but just cant in its current state

quick rating for the rom

ease of use- 4/5 if new to roms 3/5 if used to others (just too much to learn compared to others)
Look and feel- 5/5 so nice looking and some of the finer tweaks are gorgeous (folders etc...)
speed- 3/5 wasnt very fast to me, seems my older roms were faster(kangerade for example)
battery life- 3/5 could make 1 days but that was it.
stability- 2/5 too much hassle to get basic dunctionality to work and too buggy even when it did.

I actually installed it the exact way the website said to (Full wipe, etc). Never tried the mods though. When I receive my new Droid (another refurbished droid gets sent back tomorrow), I will check out the newest version. My biggest annoyance with the ROM was that if i opened my phone's keyboard, it would lead to force closing for 1 minute straight, really gimping my phone's actual usability. Also, there were just constant random force closes. We'll see what happens though; I love the idea of the rom.

This rom is the best. I'm using Launcher pro with it though haha. I haven't had one problem except the dialer FC.

Sooo has there been a fix for the Dialer yet?? I did the dialer fix from Droid Life but it's not the same dialer as the original one in the Rom and I like that one better.

Considering that the version linked to in this thread is about 10-15 versions behind the latest version, yes.

Try this version:

D1-MIUI-0.10.29-v6.4.zip - d1-miui - D1-MIUI-0.10.29-V6.4 Flash after wiping data/cache for best results and support - Project Hosting on Google Code

Install after a full data/cache wipe

Team D1-MIUI:

Found a bug (I think). When sending MMS, if you put text in the MMS, it shows up in the message thread at the bottom of the photo, and, depending on what you're sending a picture of, that makes it devilishly hard to read. It doesn't come through that way on my girlfriend's Samsung Rogue, but it's still something I'd like to see fixed.

Here are some more Miui screen captures for you guys to check out. Note the transparent notification bar.

Well, I think the big question is, why are you blowing off Gary?

Gary's blowing me off! Piece of sh*t owes me $500 for breaking out the back window on my brand new car with his weed whacker. I'm probably going to have to take him to small claims court.

Damn I know the feeling, I'm in a similar situation myself...

Nobody else is experiencing the MMS text problem? I just realized this morning that it's also the same way (MMS text showing up - or not - within the border of the photo instead of below it) on incoming texts, which makes it rather inconvenient.

This is an extremely outdated thread. Are you using a recent version of the ROM? The most recent is v6.4 which was based on the 10/29 release from China.

D1-MIUI-0.10.29-v6.4.zip - d1-miui - D1-MIUI-0.10.29-V6.4 Flash after wiping data/cache for best results and support - Project Hosting on Google Code

When the next version comes out I am going to create a new thread for it here and keep it more up to date. For now the best place to get information/post bugs is on this forum:

Just updated to 6.4 yesterday morning. I don't remember having this problem before.

Ah, well I don't send many MMS messages so I haven't experienced that issue, and I haven't read any other mentions of it. Post it over at droidforums.net or on the Google Code. There aren't many MIUI users on androidforums.com

I decided to try this ROM out again. Big minus for me is that it didn't restore my apps or even list them in the market... :(

Yeah, you have to find a workaround for that. Personally I use App Brain to assist in restoring my apps. Lots of people use Titanium Backup as well.
