Root MIUI Roms

Hi

Does anyone know if it is possible to rearrange apps on the above ROM please?

I installed it the other day, and when I went to reinstall apps via Titanium, it put the app shortcuts on whatever screen it wanted. What I want to do is categorise the apps I have.

i.e games - sat nav - and so on.

Any help would be appreciated as I really do like the ROM.

Thanks

Wiggo

I have tried alot of popular ROMs and MIUI is my favourite, so I stuck with it. But to each his own :)

I've been considering trying it for a while.... It sounds very iPhoney though, which puts me off.

It's very, very fast. The themes are cool... until you realise how limited they are. Oh, and the latest (.22?) version knackers my battery.

That's the exact reason I steered clear at first, I despise iPhone more than you know lol. But I installed it and I love having a different look, not Androidy or Sensey (if they are words lol). I also love the fact that everything can be customized within the ROM. So much I love about it. Only let down is no app drawer, but there are mods for that (apparently), or you could just install a different launcher. I just use the search function to search for my apps.

The latest version is awesome on my battery. Maybe try a different radio or kernel?

OK.... Well against my better judgement (I'm anti-apple too), I just flashed miui.us. Lets see how this goes.

Imo MrGarak's version on XDA is better with a better kernel for better performance and battery life, and a few small changes.

I used lordmod's undervolted kernel since it's the exact same .zip for CM7/MIUI and so it was the laziest option.

First impressions are.... it's much more different to stock than sense is to stock, for example. It's like somebody has gone into my house and rearranged everything; it's all there, but I don't know where to find it :p

The main thing I like about it is it is completely different. It's nice to have a break from stock Android and Sense lol.

I was a bit off when I first flashed MIUI so I flashed something else, but found myself missing MIUI so flashed back and still have it.

I have all categorised apps in folders on the main screen (Games, Tools, Remotes, Multimedia, etc), so they're not all over the place :)

It was pretty late (ok, very late) when I flashed it so I just stuck with launcher plus. Is the stock launcher worth getting used to?

Well everyone has a different opinion about it, but personally I think its better and easier using the MIUI launcher. I'll upload some screens in a mo.

It is very different so takes time to get use to it, but ye...its worth it.

This may seem weird but being anti-iphone I feel like I'm betraying myself using a ROM that looks slightly like iOS lol

The first thing iphone users at work said was: "did you want to make it look like an iphone?" Put me off, if I'm honest.

Honeymiui is pretty nice though.

Is it possible to disable the way it replaces app icons? Kinda bugs me that they keep changing when I switch themes. Plus not every app I use is included.

You would have to create icons, like mine in the screenshots above

At the risk of sounding like a complete noob... where is the app drawer icon? I can't for the life of me find it! Tried installing adwlauncher from the market too and can't find that!

There isn't one! Thats the unique feature about MIUI's launcher - everything is put on the homescreen.

But if you install any other launcher it should give you the option to set your default launcher when you hit the home button. Did that not happen? Try using the 'homeswitcher' app from the market (or by going to settings >> applications and so on and clearing the defaults for the MIUI launcher).

This is utter insanity! I installed one :)

Is there a way to get this amazing market app on CM7!? really love the new look of it!
